Happy new month, My Dear People 💕

Yesterday, I stood with my political father and mentor, Emmanuel Enoidem, SAN, and the entire Enoidem family at the funeral ceremony of his beloved sister, Late Mrs. Esang Ubom, held at Government Primary School, Utu Ikot Eboro.

I identify deeply with the Enoidem family, and this loss is, therefore, a personal one to me. I share in their grief and sorrow at this difficult moment.

As we bid Mama farewell, I ask God to grant her eternal rest and comfort everyone she left behind. I also declare that premature death shall have no place in our land in accordance with the words of Scripture in Psalm 118:17: “I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord.”

May God continue to preserve our families and grant us longevity.

I was delighted to join Christian faithful across Etim Ekpo on Friday for the August edition of Etim Ekpo Prays and the 2026 Fire Conference, moments of prayer, thanksgiving, worship and spiritual renewal.

The theme of Etim Ekpo Prays, “The Lord is Faithful,” reminded us of the unfailing nature of God’s promises and the need to remain steadfast in faith.

I was particularly grateful for the prayers and goodwill extended to me and my political father, Elder Emmanuel Enoidem, SAN, as we were recognised as Icons of Etim Ekpo Prays in celebration of our birthdays.

Later, alongside my dear wife, I joined thousands of worshippers at Christ Faith Church Nigeria General Headquarters, Utu Ikot Nkor, for the Fire Conference themed “Upper Room Fulfillment.”

I sincerely appreciate His Grace, Archbishop Otong II, and the entire leadership of Christ Faith Church for their continued prayers and support for the peace, progress and development of Etim Ekpo.

As we seek God’s direction and grace, I remain firmly committed to purposeful leadership and to building an Etim Ekpo where our people can experience meaningful development and a better quality of life.

May God continue to bless Etim Ekpo and our people.

Yesterday, I reaffirmed my administration’s commitment to strengthening maternal and child healthcare in Etim Ekpo.

At the 2026 World Breastfeeding Week commemoration at the Model Primary Health Centre, Utu Etim Ekpo, organised by the Ibom Open Maternity Project in partnership with the Council, I encouraged pregnant women and nursing mothers to make full use of available healthcare services.

We will continue to support initiatives that promote safe motherhood, proper nutrition, exclusive breastfeeding and the healthy development of our children.

I was particularly delighted that the event recorded the safe delivery of two babies, alongside the distribution of essential items to pregnant women, nursing mothers and children.

Together, we can build a healthier Etim Ekpo where every mother and child has the opportunity to thrive in line with the ARISE agenda.

I welcomed the Akwa Ibom State Government team undertaking the verification of Village Youth Presidents across the state to the Etim Ekpo Local Government Council Secretariat today.

Barely a month after my inauguration as Executive Chairman in 2024, I integrated Village Youth Presidents into the security architecture of Etim Ekpo, recognising their strategic position as community-level leaders with direct access to information and developments within their respective villages.

Since then, my administration has also placed them on monthly stipends to support their responsibilities and encourage their active participation in grassroots security and community development, in line with the ARISE agenda.

I am pleased that this initiative is now being institutionalised by our forward-thinking leader, His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno, PhD, across Akwa Ibom State. Etim Ekpo under my watch remains committed to supporting the process and working with the State Government to strengthen our grassroots security architecture.

Today, it was a great honour to welcome the wife of the Senate President, Her Excellency, Dr. (Mrs.) Ekaette Unoma Akpabio, who was in Etim Ekpo to commission seven new constituency projects facilitated by our National Leader, the President of the 10th Senate, Distinguished Senator Godswill Akpabio, GCON.

On behalf of the good people of Etim Ekpo, I sincerely appreciate our dear Senate President for his unwavering commitment to our people and for ensuring that the dividends of democracy continue to reach our communities.

The projects commissioned today, including farm roads and a solar-powered water project, will make a meaningful difference in the lives of our people, improve access to essential services and contribute significantly to the socio-economic development of our communities.

As a Council, we remain committed to working with all levels of government and relevant stakeholders to attract more development, strengthen infrastructure and improve the quality of life of our people.
