A Day to Remember at the Carnival! 🎉

As the delighted wife of the Chairman of ITU LGA, I am filled with joy and gratitude as I reflect on the outstanding display of our Local Government Area at the carnival yesterday.

From the vibrant colors of our traditional attires to the captivating performances that showcased the rich cultural heritage of ITU People, our people truly brought their A-game! The unity, energy, and creativity on display were simply breathtaking.

It was a proud moment seeing ITU stand out with such grace and elegance. Our cultural dancers, drummers, and craftsmen/artisans gave the audience a glimpse of what makes ITU unique — a land of beauty, talent, and harmony.

Thank you to everyone who worked tirelessly to make this happen from the visionary Governor of Our dear state to the organizers,ITU committee members to the performers and forgetting my lovely husband.ITU has once again proven that we are not just part of the story, we are the story!

Together, we will continue to shine brighter. ITU to the world! 🌟

Earlier today ,I was accompanied by members of Itu LGA Genderbased violence Unit as I visited two iconic schools in Itu LGA as part of the 16 days of activism( November 25th-December 10th) against genderbased violence while simultaneously honoring the legacy of our deceased first lady ,Late Mrs. Patience Umo Eno who was laid to rest on Friday,30th November 2024.The schools visited were Itam secondary school,Obong Itam which happens to be the most populated school in my local Government area and Community secondary commercial School Ikot Andem Itam.

I was warmly welcomed by the respective Principals /management team of the schools alongside myriads of excited students,then proceeded to have a uninterrupted session where I provided the students and teachers with the nitty-gritty of Genderbased violence citing personal experiences and clear illustrations, while also highlighting their respective roles in the fight against it and my dear husband's interest in their academic welfare.I clearly stated the implications of being reported/caught being perpetrators as the laws against genderbased violence in Akwa Ibom State are now age irrespective.

Furthermore, The students were provided with pamphlets containing necessary information they can reference,hotline in case of any emergency and writing materials to support their academic activities while stressing the need for them to set their priorities right academically,shun bad company in order to have a bright future for themselves with the ripple effects being a more prosperous Itu local Government area and Akwa Ibom State at large.

The Principals of the respective schools, Mr. Ime Nkan and Mrs. Akon Ukpe alongside her Vice Principal(admin) Mr.Emmanuel Okon expressed their gratitude for our visit and support, pledging to play their roles actively as educators in the fight against genderbased violence related societal ills in their respective schools.Ultimately,With the tenacity and drive displayed so far by the Itu LGA genderbased violence unit,I am certain that in no distant time, genderbased violence in our communities would be a thing of the past.

Few hours ago,I partook in a candle light procession from Abak road to water foundation,Nwaniba road (Uyo) in honour of of our departed first lady, Late Mrs.Patience Umo Eno alongside other wives of chairmen,female government officials and other persons who came to offer their solidarity.
It's safe to note that though she served only for a short while,her good work speaks volumes and she'll be greatly missed.

It was indeed a successful flag off of the 16 days Activism for gender based violence in Akwa Ibom state as all the wives of local Government chairmen did a match pass at Ibom hall and yours truly was there with her beautiful team members.
Join us on the 2nd of December 2024 as we create an awareness and sensitization in some of our Secondary schools in Itu LGA about Gender based Violence. Together we can raise a r**e free and violence free society.

Yesterday,in the company of my dear husband,The Executive Chairman of Itu Local Government Council, Hon. Ubong Nkutt, We attended the 80th birthday celebration of Obonganwan Grace Ekong, the former Secretary to the Akwa Ibom State Government.

The event took place at Ibom Hall Grounds in Uyo and was graced by the presence of prominent personalities such as His Excellency Pastor Umo Eno,Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, who was represented by his Special Adviser on Political Matters, Dr. Godwin Ntukude.

Also in attendance to honour Obonganwan Grace Ekong was the former Governor of Akwa Ibom State, His Excellency Obong (Arc) Victor Attah under whose administration the celebrant served as Secretary to the State Government,Key Stakeholders of ITU LGA such as Hon.Kufre Edidem/Spouse,Dr.Henry Archibong,Mrs.Inemesit Maxwell (Chapter Chairman PDP) and serving councillors.

I humbly wish our erudite matriarch many more lovely years ahead!!
