SEN. DR. EMMANUEL EMMAMO BWACHA CON, A POLITICAL SCHOLAR AND THE FAVOURITE POLITICIAN IN TARABA STATE
Senator Dr. Emmanuel Bwacha is said to be the most talked about politician in Taraba State, the senator was never a party switching politician (until recently, when he felt his path to progress was been limited by the PDP) as he is a co-founding member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The Senator started his political career by contesting for the LGA Chairmanship, to becoming a Member, Taraba State House of Assembly. Before then, he was a Civil Servant and later served as a Commissioner during the Administration of His Excellency, Rev. Jolly Nyame. During that period, Chief David Sabo Kente (DSK) was an Accountant under the supervision of Sen. Dr. Bwacha.
His kinsmen and supporters having seen the impact of this quintessential leader, called him to contest for the position of an Honourable Member, Federal House of Representatives (to represent Donga, Takum, Ussa & Yangtu Federal Constituency). As a humble and well mannered gentleman, he harkened to the call of his people, and with their assistance and support, he emerged victorious.
As a Federal Legislator, he served as Chairman, Police Service Commission. He was instrumental in helping lots of young men and women from Taraba State get into the employment of the Nigerian Police Force.
After his performance in the green chambers, Dr. Bwacha was again asked by his constituents to contest for the position of a Senator where for the first time in his political history he lost the Primary election (which was completely out of the purview of his constituents), due to some microscopic few, who felt threatened by his raising political profile.
Senator Dr. Emmanuel Bwacha went back to his people at the grassroots for 4 years, he did not leave the party PDP.
In 2011, Dr. Bwacha's constituents again beckoned on him to contest for the senatorial position of Southern Taraba, this time, assuring him of going all the way to support him, a support which saw him win that election, and he has won all subsequent elections ever since due to his continuous hard work, excellent service delivery, promoting and supporting Southern Tarabans at home and in the diaspora.
The performances of the Senator, which are visible to the blind and audible to the deaf, won him the love, respect and admiration of friends and foes (who have mostly been converted to friends).
The achievements of the 3-time Senator are too numerous to mention, but a few will be mentioned for the purpose of this write-up:
1. The Senator provided the students of Southern Taraba with a full package scholarship to assist them in pushing through with their academic studies at the higher institution.
2. He provided farmers of Southern Taraba with over 11 Tractors and other modernized farming tools to help them feed their families, the state and beyond.
3. He provided graduates of the zone with beautiful and lucrative Federal Government jobs.
4. He facilitated the rehabilitation of Wukari/Ibi road and the construction of Mararaba/Donga road and lots more.
5. He provided most of the wards in the zone with portable motorized solar borehole (good water is indeed health).
6. He provided solar street lights to boost the security consciousness of the people.
Now, you can see that his coming to the All Progressives Congress (APC) is a blessing to the party in the state and national level, before he was received by President Mohammadu Buhari, APC Taraba was not seen as an opposition party at all (though the Late Maman Taraba of blessed memory gave the PDP a run for their money during the 2015 gubernatorial election).
Then, the Minister cared less about how the party at the local government and state is fairing.
Almost all political appointees don’t care about the growth of party but rather fight each other on trivialities about who becomes party state chairman and ward delegates.
The coming of Sen. Dr. Bwacha into the APC did not only rattle the PDP but also broke them as some Members of the State House of Assembly switched parties to the APC. House of Representatives Members and some political aides of the Executive Governor were not left out in switching parties to the APC.
The Senator motivated the 16 APC Local Government Chairmen with Branded vehicles. He also provided brand new Hilander jeeps to his 16 LGA coordinators and motorcycles to his 164 ward coordinators.
This is where we are today with Senator Dr. Emmanuel Bwacha, the political scholar in Taraba State and the most talked about politician in the north East.
