NOVEMBER 11, 2023 BAYELSA STATE GUBERNATORIAL RACE

Coordinator of Bar. Gita's Political Family, Comr. Godgift Prezi with over 3,800 members across Bayelsa West, has led executive members of the association on an unscheduled visit to the Director General of the association, Bar. Gita Matthew Peremobowei, who was the SDP candidate for Ekeremor Constituency 1 in the last Bayelsa State House of Assembly elections.

Speaking during the visit, Comr. Prezi who also doubled as the coordinator of the liberation team thanked the DG for privately reaching out to members even at his trying times, most especially before and after the State House Assembly elections wherein he had left behind indelible marks for posterity as someone resilient, consistent, diligent and passionate about the social conditions of the people of Ekeremor Constituency 1, particularly those at the grassroots.

Comr. Prezi revealed that the essence of the visit, among other things, was to brainstorm with the DG on issues regarding the forthcoming Bayelsa State Governorship election which is on the next line of action.

While responding, Barr Gita thanked members of the liberation team for their support, love and care towards him, and their firm trust and confidence in his capacity to lead.

The DG observed that leadership and fellowship are key components of politics, and valuable ingredients required for a robust political engagement in any healthy democratic environment where good governance is the desired end product of such political efforts.

He called on all members of the political association and supporters to remain patient, prayerful and steadfast in their trust in God for the best.

On the forthcoming Bayelsa State Governorship elections, Barr Gita stated that after due consultation with critical stakeholders and decisions arrived, the position of the association will be communicated to all members through their various ward coordinators, and that all members from the various communities will be carried along.

However, he made it abundantly clear to members that the association will support and work for a candidate with a proven track record of achievements, that will deliver the dividends of democracy to Bayelsans, and take the State to greater height when elected.

He used the medium to call on new members to register and identify with the platform.

Accreditation and voting has started fully in Isampou Community, Ekeremor LGA as the incoming Lawmaker of Ekelga Constituency-1 Barr. Gita Matthew Peremobowei successful gone through accreditation and has voted in his polling unit.

In accordance with the provisions of the 2022 Electoral act, as amended. This is to formally inform the general public, INEC , Media houses and other civil society organisations that official campaigns by the Social Democratic Party, SDP Ekeremor Constituency-1 have come to an End.

By this notice, the Social Democratic Party shall not be held liable to further campaigns as we have officially collapsed all campaign structures as of 12midnight, on Thursday. March 16th, 2023.

The public should bear the record of this information.

Going forward, we like to sincerely appreciate everyone. Our dear teeming supporters, and party faithfuls who have contributed immensely to the progress of the party in Ekelga constituency-1.

We urge everyone to conduct themselves in a peaceful manner as we approach the polls on Saturday, March 18th. 2023.
