Fintiri Inspects Projects in Madagali, Michika, Promises More Democratic Dividends

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has assured residents of Madagali and Michika Local Government Areas of Adamawa State of more democratic dividends as he inspected ongoing development projects across the two councils.

The Governor toured the construction site of the College of Technology, Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Gulak, Madagali Local Government Area, and the Adamawa State College of Health Technology in Michika, reaffirming his administration's commitment to expanding access to quality education and infrastructure.

Commitment to Youth Empowerment

Speaking during the inspection, Governor Fintiri said the establishment of the College of Technology, Innovation and Entrepreneurship underscores his administration's resolve to empower youths and women through technical, vocational and entrepreneurial education.

He noted that the institution is designed to equip students with practical skills that will enable them to become self-reliant and contribute meaningfully to the state's economic development.

The Governor urged residents of Madagali to continue supporting the administration's developmental agenda, stressing that government remains committed to executing projects that improve the welfare of the people.

He disclosed that the institution would feature modern hostels, workshops, laboratories, administrative offices and a state-of-the-art Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Centre, which he described as one of the best in the country.

Academic Activities to Begin Soon

The Acting Rector of the College of Technology, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Gulak, Dr. Yusuf Gambo, told journalists that academic activities are expected to commence in August as construction enters its final stage.

He commended Governor Fintiri for establishing the institution, noting that only a few outstanding works remain before the college begins full academic activities in the second week of August.

Dr. Gambo explained that the college was established to bridge the gap between conventional higher education and the practical skills demanded by industries through innovation-driven and entrepreneurial education.

According to him, the institution will offer programmes in Fashion Design and Garment Making, Renewable Energy Technology, Computer Science, Microfinance and Enterprise Development, Supply Chain Management, as well as other diploma and skills acquisition programmes aimed at producing competent entrepreneurs and skilled professionals.

He added that National Diploma programmes will run for two years, while candidates who do not meet admission requirements will be admitted into a one-year foundation programme before seeking admission through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

Courtesy Visits to Traditional Rulers

Earlier, Governor Fintiri, accompanied by his Deputy, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, and the All Progressives Congress governorship candidate, Ahmed Tijjani Galadima, paid courtesy visits to the palaces of the Ptil Madagali, His Royal Majesty Dr. Ali Dan Buram, and the Mbege Ka Michika, Professor Bulus Gadiga.

The Governor said the visits were to appreciate the traditional rulers for promoting peace and unity in their domains and to seek their support for his senatorial ambition.

He described Ahmed Tijjani Galadima as a capable candidate who would sustain the developmental strides of the present administration if elected governor.

Governor Fintiri appealed to the people of Madagali and Adamawa State to vote for all APC candidates in the forthcoming elections to ensure continuity in governance and development.

Traditional Rulers Commend Governor

Responding separately, the Ptil Madagali and the Mbege Ka Michika commended Governor Fintiri for improving security in Madagali, Michika and neighbouring communities.

The royal fathers urged the Governor to sustain efforts at promoting unity, strengthening security and expanding development projects across the state.

They also described the establishment of the College of Technology, Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Gulak as a major investment in youth empowerment and human capital development.

APC Reaffirms Support

The Adamawa State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Alhaji Hamza Bello Madagali, thanked the people of Madagali for their continued loyalty to the party.

He urged eligible voters to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards and vote for all APC candidates in the forthcoming elections while assuring Governor Fintiri of the party's unwavering support for his senatorial ambition.

Goodwill messages were also delivered by party leaders from Madagali and Michika, with supporters expressing satisfaction with the developmental projects executed by the administration.

Governor Inspects Road, Commissions Administrative Block

In a related development, Governor Fintiri inspected the ongoing construction of the Mararaban Garta–Kamale Road in Michika Local Government Area, alongside other key development projects.

The Governor also commissioned a newly completed administrative block at the Adamawa State College of Health Technology, Michika, built to provide a more conducive working environment for staff.

The Provost of the College, Dr. Suleiman Yakubu, who conducted the Governor round the projects, expressed appreciation to the state government for its investment in the institution, describing the projects as a major boost to educational development.

Calls for Unity and Protection of Public Assets

Governor Fintiri later met separately with the leadership of the Muslim Council and the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Michika Chapter.

He urged religious leaders to continue sensitising residents on the need to protect public infrastructure, stressing that government projects belong to the people and must be safeguarded.

The Governor also called on APC members to remain united, saying unity is essential for sustainable development and effective democratic governance.

He further announced that a three-point-five-megawatt electricity project would soon be provided in Michika to improve power supply and stimulate economic activities in the area.

Leaders of the Muslim Council and CAN commended Governor Fintiri for the improved security situation in Michika and across Adamawa State and pledged their continued support for the administration's development agenda.
