ADAMAWA STATE GOVERNMENT HANDS OVER SITE FOR SOLAR INSTALLATION, MONITORS PROJECTS IN MADAGALI

The Adamawa State Government, through the Ministry for Reconstruction, Rehabilitation, Reintegration and Humanitarian Services (RRR&HS), has officially conducted the site handover for the installation of over 125 solar street lights across Gulak and Madagali towns.

The project is to be implemented by Telland Nigeria Limited. The delegation of government officials was led by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry for RRR&HS, Pharmacist Amos Enoch Piribu.

Speaking during the official site handover, Pharmacist Piribu commended the efforts of traditional leaders, security agencies, and other stakeholders for their cooperation and support towards ensuring the smooth implementation of the project.

The Team Lead of Telland Nigeria Limited, Mr. Allen Augustine, provided detailed clarification on the scope, specifications, and implementation timeline of the project. He assured stakeholders that the project would be completed within four weeks.

The visit also provided an opportunity for the government team to monitor ongoing projects within Madagali Local Government Area as part of the State Government’s commitment to improving infrastructure and enhancing community development.

SAVE THE CHILDREN INTERNATIONAL PAYS COURTESY VISIT TO ADAMAWA COMMISSIONER FOR RRR&HS

The Adamawa State Ministry for Reconstruction, Rehabilitation, Reintegration and Humanitarian Services (RRR&HS) has received a delegation from Save the Children International during a courtesy visit to the Honourable Commissioner at the Ministry’s headquarters.

The delegation was led by the State Focal Person for Durable Solutions, Hyala Dauda. The visit aimed to strengthen collaboration and deepen existing partnerships between the organisation and the Adamawa State Government, particularly in the area of durable solutions and humanitarian interventions.

In his remarks, the team lead highlighted the organisation’s ongoing efforts in supporting internally displaced persons (IDPs) and other vulnerable groups, while emphasizing the need for sustained synergy with the Ministry to achieve long-term rehabilitation and reintegration outcomes.

Responding, the Honourable Commissioner, Bello Hamman Diram, appreciated the delegation for the visit and commended Save the Children International for its continued support to humanitarian activities in the state. He reiterated the Ministry’s commitment to strengthening coordination mechanisms and ensuring that all partner interventions align with the State Government’s policies and priorities.

Also present during the visit was the Ministry’s Procurement Officer and Focal Person for the organisation, Abdurasheed Ibrahim Bello, alongside other key officials.
The visit concluded with a renewed commitment from both parties to enhance collaboration and work collectively towards providing sustainable solutions for displaced and vulnerable populations in Adamawa State.

ICRC OFFICIAL VISITS ADAMAWA COMMISSIONER FOR RRR&HS, REAFFIRMS SUPPORT FOR HUMANITARIAN COORDINATION

The Adamawa State Ministry for Reconstruction, Rehabilitation Reintegration and Humanitarian Services (RRR&HS) today received an official delegation from the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), led by the Head of Sub-Delegation, Mr. Chadi Sidhom, during a courtesy visit to the Honourable Commissioner at the Ministry’s headquarters.

The visit aimed to strengthen collaboration and enhance coordination of humanitarian activities across Adamawa State, particularly in addressing the needs of vulnerable populations affected by displacement and conflict.

Speaking during the meeting, the Honourable Commissioner for RRR&HS, Hon Bello Hamman Diram, emphasized the Ministry’s central role as the coordinating body for all humanitarian interventions in the state. He noted that the Ministry remains committed to providing a unified framework that ensures effective planning, implementation, and monitoring of humanitarian programmes in collaboration with development partners.

Hon Diram further highlighted the importance of synergy among stakeholders, stressing that proper coordination helps to avoid duplication of efforts, ensures efficient use of resources, and guarantees that assistance reaches the most vulnerable communities in a timely and equitable manner.

In his remarks, Mr. Chadi Sidhom stated that the ICRC has been implementing interventions across various sectors, including WATHAP, protection, ECOSEC and health. He added that these activities are currently being carried out across the worse affected nothern zone of the state.

The discussion also explored opportunities for strengthening partnerships in areas such as support for conflict-affected communities, rehabilitation initiatives, and sustainable reintegration programmes.

The visit concluded with the presentation of copies of the Adamawa State Homegrown Durable Solutions Action Plan and the recently launched Integrated Humanitarian Coordination Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) to the ICRC delegation.

ADAMAWA STATE LAUNCHES INTEGRATED COORDINATION STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURE

The Adamawa State Government, through the Ministry for Reconstruction, Rehabilitation, Reintegration and Humanitarian Services (RRR&HS), has officially launched the Adamawa State Integrated Coordination Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), aimed at enhancing coordination of humanitarian activities across the state.

The launch marks a significant step in the State Government’s commitment to establishing a unified framework to guide and strengthen the coordination of all humanitarian interventions in Adamawa State.

Speaking during the occasion, the Honourable Commissioner, Ministry for Reconstruction, Rehabilitation, Reintegration and Humanitarian Services, Hon. Bello Hamman Diram, stated that the initiative reflects the strong commitment of His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Adamawa State, to institutional strengthening, inclusive governance, and impactful service delivery.

In his remarks, the Head of Service, Adamawa State, Pharm. Isah Ardo, mni, expressed optimism that the SOP will clearly define roles, enhance coordination, and improve the lives of affected communities across the state.

The event was attended by the Head of Service, Pharm. Isah Ardo, mni; the Honourable Commissioner, Hon. Bello Hamman Diram;the Chairperson, Planning Commission , Mrs. Mary Paninga the Permanent Secretary, Ministry for RRR&HS, Pharm. Amos Enoch Piribu; the World Bank Coordinator and donor agencies , Mr. Robert Ahijo; the Adviser to the Governor on CSOs and NGOs, Mrs. Asmau Durnin; as well as representatives from various Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), United Nations agencies, international and local non-governmental organizations (INGOs and NGOs), civil society organizations, and other key stakeholders.

The occasion featured presentations, the official unveiling of the SOP document, and interactive discussion sessions.

Hon Bello Hamman Diram Receives Turkish Ambassador in Yola

The Honourable Commissioner, Ministry for Reconstruction, Rehabilitation, Reintegration and Humanitarian Services (MRRR&HS), Hon. Bello Hamman Diram, on behalf of the Adamawa State Government, warmly received the Turkish Ambassador to Nigeria, Mehmet Poroy, at the Yola International Airport during his official visit to the state.

The Ambassador was received alongside top government officials and stakeholders, marking the beginning of a strategic visit aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation between the Republic of Türkiye and Adamawa State.

Adamawa Inaugurates State Technical Committee on Rehabilitation and Reintegration

The Adamawa State Government, through the Ministry for Reconstruction, Rehabilitation, Reintegration and Humanitarian Services (MRRR&HS), in collaboration with the International Organization for Migration, has officially inaugurated the State Technical Committee on Rehabilitation and Reintegration.

The inauguration was Done by the Honourable Commissioner, Hon Bello Hamman Diram, who was ably represented by the Permanent Secretary, Pharmacist Amos Enoch Piribu.

The event brought together key stakeholders including government officials, development partners, civil society organisations and security agencies.

Adamawa State Government, Distributes Food and Nutritional Items to Vulnerable Persons

The Adamawa State Government has received and commenced the distribution of food and nutritional items to vulnerable persons affected by humanitarian crises across the state.

The items were provided by the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction. The official flag-off ceremony was performed by the Honourable Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Dr. Bernard Mohammed Doro.

In his remarks, Dr. Doro commended the Adamawa State Government for its sustained efforts in providing humanitarian assistance to affected communities. He pledged the Federal Government’s continued support in complementing the state’s interventions to improve the wellbeing of vulnerable citizens.

The Executive Governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, who was ably represented by the Honourable Commissioner, Adamawa State Ministry for Reconstruction, Rehabilitation, Reintegration and Humanitarian Services (RRR&HS), Hon. Bello Hamman Diram, expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for supporting and complementing the efforts of the Adamawa State Government.
The Commissioner reaffirmed the State Government’s readiness to continue working collaboratively with the Federal Government to ensure sustained humanitarian support and improved living conditions for the good people of Adamawa State.

Adamawa Concludes Three-Day High-Level Learning Workshop on Emergency to Reliance in Abuja

The Adamawa State Ministry for Reconstruction, Rehabilitation, Reintegration and Humanitarian Services has successfully concluded a three-day high-level learning workshop on the Emergency to Reliance approach held at Johnwood Hotel, Abuja.

Declaring the workshop open, the Honourable Commissioner of the Ministry, Hon. Bello Hamman Diram, stressed the need for stronger collaboration and synergy among government institutions and development partners to ensure a smooth transition from humanitarian response to sustainable development.

The technical team was led by The Permanent Secretary, Pharmacist Amos Enoch Piribu.

The workshop focused on assessing the integrated programme impact of the Emergency to Reliance approach, identifying humanitarian gaps in the North-East, examining the effects of sporadic security concerns on displaced persons, and reviewing key achievements recorded so far.
Participants were drawn from various Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) as well as Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), including:

• BBC Media Action
• Norwegian Refugee Council
• International Rescue Committee
• Justice Development and Peace Commission
• Legal Aid Council of Nigeria
• Ministry of Justice
• Adamawa State Ministry for RRR&HS
• Ministry for water resources

Presentations were delivered across critical humanitarian and development sectors including Protection, Livelihoods, Health, Shelter, Nutrition, and WASH.

The presence and active participation of the Permanent Secretary underscored the Adamawa State Government’s strong commitment to strengthening collaboration with development partners in delivering sustainable services and improving the well-being of the people of Adamawa State.
