September 4, 1988, is remembered as the celebration of the founding of the Ecumenical Catholic Church. With much of the legal work already done, September 4 is remembered because Archbishop and Primate +Mark Shirilau+ and Deacon +Jeffery Shirilau+ went to the home of a man dying of AIDS in Santa Ana California to celebrate the Eucharist. Home alone and dying he was feared for the unknown disease he had. He had been rejected by his family. And he died 3 days after this Eucharistic celebration.
Archbishop Mark and Deacon Jeffery visited him. It was a pastoral visit. It was a political statement. This Mass affirmed the Eucharist as the center of the work of the Ecumenical Catholic Church. This Eucharist affirmed that the ECC is Cristo-centric rooted in the Body and Blood of Jesus the Christ.
This first Mass is a powerful statement about the nature and essence of the Eucharist in the Ecumenical Catholic Church. Every Community of Faith in the ECC celebrates the Eucharist as the primary moment convoking the Body of Christ to gather, to be affirmed and to be weaved together with those around the world who identify with the Ecumenical Catholic Church.
Today we remember this Mass. We thank Archbishop Mark and Deacon Jeffery for their vision of the centrality of the Eucharist in the independent catholic movement.
El 4 de septiembre de 1988, es recordado como la celebración de la fundación de la Iglesia Católica Ecuménica. Con gran parte del trabajo legal ya hecho, el 4 de septiembre es recordado porque el arzobispo y primado +Mark Shirilau+ y el diácono +Jeffery Shirilau+ fueron a la casa de un hombre que muere de SIDA en Santa Ana, California, para celebrar la Eucaristía. Solo en casa y muriendo, se le temía por la enfermedad desconocida que tenía. Había sido rechazado por su familia. Y murió 3 días después de esta celebración eucarística.
El arzobispo Mark y el diácono Jeffery lo visitaron. Fue una visita pastoral. Fue una declaración política. Esta misa afirmó la Eucaristía como el centro de la obra de la Iglesia Católica Ecuménica. Esta Eucaristía afirmó que el ECC está centrado en Cristo arraigado en el Cuerpo y la Sangre de Jesucristo.
Esta primera misa es una poderosa declaración sobre la naturaleza y la esencia de la Eucaristía en la Iglesia Católica Ecuménica. Cada Comunidad de Fe en el CEC celebra la Eucaristía como el momento principal que convoca al Cuerpo de Cristo para reunirse, afirmarse y entretejerse con aquellos de todo el mundo que se identifican con la Iglesia Católica Ecuménica.
