Are you looking for support for your own or your beloved’s transgender journey? Here are some organizations in the Netherlands that can help you in many different ways.
Transgender netwerk () offers a plethora of resources for gender diverse individuals, as well as for families, friends, care givers, employers, educators, etc. You can find a lot of information about trans health care in the Netherlands, safety, politics & policies, media, and more.
Genderpraatjes () is a youth helpline where you can ask questions, or just talk to someone, about gender identity issues. In their own words, “No question is too crazy for us!”. Both Dutch and English are welcome.
Transvisie () organizes support groups where you can meet other gender diverse people, ask questions, find connection, and learn from each other. There are plenty of different groups for your or your loved ones’ needs, as well as individual sessions. Also available online and in English.
T-Nederland (.nl) hosts an active forum for all your questions. They also organize monthly meetings (T-avonds) both in the public sphere and in a protected environment (T-Breda and T-Amersfoort).
Transgender Infopunt Nederland (Transgender Information Point Netherlands) is another contact point for questions, concerns, information.
Colored Qollective () focuses specifically on the position and safety of LGBTQIA+ People of Color. They organize monthly ‘Safe(r) Space meetings’ and ‘POCQunity Group Care Gatherings’, as well as run the Urecht Trans Clinic.
Trans Amsterdam () organizes events focused on art, culture, and lifestyle in Amsterdam. They also run the Trans Art School and hosts workshops to empower trans and non-binary people through art and culture.
