📣 CALL FOR CANDIDATES - Secretary General of University Women of Europe
University Women of Europe (UWE) is inviting applications for the position of Secretary General, for a two-year mandate beginning on 3 October 2026.
This is a meaningful leadership opportunity for an experienced and committed woman who wishes to contribute to the effective governance, transparency and continued development of a dynamic European network dedicated to advancing the rights, opportunities and interests of women and girls.
As a key member of the UWE Board, the Secretary General supports the smooth functioning of the organisation and plays an essential role in Board coordination, democratic procedures, institutional communication, record keeping and the organisation of meetings, webinars and the Annual General Meeting.
We are looking for a candidate who demonstrates:
• Strong organisational, administrative and communication skills
• Experience working within a women’s organisation or an umbrella organisation
• Excellent teamwork and networking abilities
• Integrity, sound judgement and a strong sense of responsibility
• A genuine commitment to gender equality and the empowerment of graduate women
• Fluency in written and spoken English
• Knowledge of French and/or German as an asset
• Legal knowledge as a valuable advantage
• Availability of approximately 8–12 hours per week

Candidates will be invited to give a five-minute presentation introducing themselves and explaining their motivation during the UWE Conference in Bucharest, Rumania taking place from 2 to 4 October 2026.
