Sharp needles at microscopic level 🔬
A tardigrade’s menu is microscopic, but the mechanics are anything but simple. Using tiny piercing ‘mouthparts’, these resilient micro-animals feed on algae, plant cells, and other organic material hidden in thin films of water. One puncture, one suction, one meal at a time.
In this video: zoomed in on the slow, deliberate art of microscopic eating: where every movement matters, and every droplet is an ecosystem.
At a scale so small, you can only see it with a microscope.
Come visit ARTIS-Micropia and see the tardigrades up close.
