On May 24, 2024, the 12th Indian diaspora conference commemorating India's 75th Republic anniversary was held, featuring prominent speakers and thought-provoking discussions. A special speech was delivered by the Deputy Ambassador of the Indian mission on "India’s Republic at 75: Reflections and the Vision for 2050." The theme presentation, "India's Republic at 75: Achievements and the Vision for 2050," was delivered by Mr. Ram Lakhina, President Emeritus of the Foundation for Critical Choices of India (FCCI) and founding member of Foundation of Indian Diaspora Europe. Mr. Thijs Reuten, Member of the European Parliament from the Netherlands, addressed the conference on "India and EU: Natural Partners in Transition of India Towards Developed Nation Status." Additionally, H.E. Mr. Eric Niehe, Former Ambassador of the Netherlands to India, discussed "India’s Transition Towards a Developed Country – Possibilities and Challenges." The event highlighted India's progress and its future aspirations, fostering a dialogue on international cooperation and development.
The conference further delved into "India’s Transition Towards a Developed Country: Possibilities and Challenges," a topic that sparked insightful discussions among the attendees. Athird segment of the conference focused on "Harnessing the Indian Diaspora’s Potential Towards This Goal." The diaspora's contributions in terms of investment, knowledge transfer, and cultural exchange were seen as pivotal in India's development journey.
The event also featured a fruitful panel discussion with industry leaders and political figures.
