Lately, the Observant newspaper publishes more and more about themselves and how sorry we should all be for them because their website was down for three days during a DDoS-attack last January. Repeatedly they claim that people should be open for other opinions, and censoring them is bad. It’s about time the Observant started to practice what they preach.

Who are we?

We are anti-capitalist.

We believe that feminism must be anti-capitalist, because we do not only strive for a better representation in a system that is based on oppression and exploitation, but we want to change the whole system. The patriarchal division of labour under the capitalist system into a ‘private’ sphere, where women do most of the household chores, emotional and care work, and the male ‘public’ sphere, where so-called ‘productive’ labour jobs are performed, leads to a society, in which the latter is more valued than the former. It is our belief that the liberation of women cannot be achieved in a capitalist system which rests on this gendered division of labour. We want to bring together the struggle of women against patriarchal oppression and the struggle against capitalist exploitation, to fight for a world ‘from each according to her ability, to each according to her needs’.

Let’s stay united to defeat capitalist patriarchy.
