The university should play a greater role in building housing in the city of Nijmegen. 🏘

We also believe that the room guarantee for international undergraduate students should
return!
Until academic year 2023/2024, the RU reserved a room with SSH& or a private housing provider for all first-year bachelor students from abroad for one year. As of next academic year, this arrangement no longer applies, so it is predicted that hundreds of international students without a room start their studies in the Netherlands and will end up in emergency accommodation.

This is unacceptable!

✨️We believe that Radboud Rocks should return! ✨️
For financial reasons, the annual festival on campus will not take place this year. Events like Radboud Rocks contribute to feelings of togetherness. Therefore, Radboud Rocks - or a similar event - should take place again from 2025.

We also think CultuurCafé must stay! It is the vibrant heart of the campus, where academics and students can meet informally. ❤️ Unfortunately, the university administration is planning to demolish the Collegezalencomplex, and with it the CultuurCafé. This should not happen!

A board year can be very expensive, while you learn a huge amount from it and the university also actively encourages it. Because it is still not attractive enough, several associations and organisations are at risk of not being able to find a board. For this reason, , together with dozens of other student associations and organisations, sent a 'brandbrief' to the Executive Board last year.

We believe that a tuition fee-free administrative year should be possible🙌

And a higher financial compensation!💸

Transgressive behaviour is still a major problem at Radboud. AKKU believes this should be addressed urgently through:

Zero tolerance for abuse of power.

Also, the ombudsman should be actively involved in addressing broader structural challenges and bottlenecks within the
university, and play a proactive role when injustices occur.

Next to this the campus should be a safe place for all students. There should therefore a code of conduct for students. Currently, there are only codes of conduct for staff and student organisations.

My name is Louise, I am 21 years old and currently I am studying History and Philosophy. Next year, I want to advocate for student welfare, creativity on campus and a transparent university. More concretely, I would like to focus on more student psychologists and student advisors, free menstrual products and a wider range of cultural and creative courses at the RSC. I also believe that the university can do more to take care of its students and staff and communicate clearly, for example, by commissioning research on workload and abuse of power.

I think it is important that every student feels heard and that the university can be a safe place where everyone feels at home and can blossom. On behalf of AKKU, I hope to contribute to this next year!

As former editor-in-chief of student newspaper ANS (Algemeen Nijmeegs Studentenblad .online ), I have seen every corner of campus - from the mortuary in the umc to meetings with the university administration in the aula. There are many beautiful things to admire at our university, but unfortunately there are also many dark sides. The list is long: financial mismanagement, social unsafety, lack of support for active student life.... The common thread is that we as students suffer time and again from unequal power relations.

Concretely, I want:
- zero tolerance for abuse of power against students
- the possibility of a tuition-free board year
- that the quality of education at the management faculty is kept up to standard despite financial mismanagement

On behalf of student union AKKU I want to work for these and many other issues, for a better uni!❤️

There should be a demolition ban on university buildings! 🏚

The campus plan from 2022 states that the Linnaeus building, TvA1, the collegezalencomplex including the Culture Café and Mercator III will eventually be demolished.

Moreover, renovation or reallocation do more justice to the (art) historical value of buildings. Why should weget rid of disposable cups while the university administration treats buildings as temporary
utilitarian object? 👀💀

We also encourage the repurposing of the Erasmus building into student accommodation.

Hey everyone,
My name is Noortje, and I am a third-year political science student. In my spare time I enjoy reading and rowing. In addition to my studies, I have been active in my education committee for almost two years. There I argued for more diversity in the curriculum and dealt with budget cuts in the management faculty.
Especially in times of crisis, it is important that the university involves students in its decision-making process. The university must be more transparent and democratic.

After playing a part in helping reform, reclaim & relaunch what AKKU is all about along with my fellow board members & everyone in the party, how could I not support this beautiful list & program where all of our best ideas have prevailed?

We know what we're about. And we're about you. We say no to budget cuts, to power abuse, to discrimination in all forms at home & abroad. Together, our representatives in the student council & our activists have the best chance of combating these ills!
