Introducing the Jan Laurens Hartong Collection! ๐ŸŽถ
Jan Hartong, co-founder of the World Music Academy at Rotterdam Conservatory, left behind a musical legacy that continues to inspire. Thanks to Diana Hartong's generous donation, his works are now the intellectual property of Codarts. Special thanks to Nils Fischer for his support. Dive into Hartong's masterpieces like Afro Cuban Sanctus, Requiem para el Mundo, and more in our catalogue.

In 1722 Johann Sebastian Bach published the Well-Tempered Clavier โ€œfor the profit and use of musical youth desirous of learning, and especially for the pastime of those already skilled in this studyโ€. In celebration of this anniversary, the following article was published on JStor.
JStor is one of our online sources, accessible for all Codarts students through our library website. After reading this wonderful article exploring the history and the context in which the WTK was published, be sure to check out other interesting articles available on JStor โ€“ after all, the access is free thanks to Codarts!

Bachโ€™s most influential pedagogical work turns 300 this year. But whatโ€™s so โ€œwell-temperedโ€ about this clavier, and whatโ€™s a โ€œclavier,โ€ anyway?
