VVD International contributes to a free and democratic world by strengthening liberal values through international cooperation. For over 25 years, VVD International has been responsible for the foreign relations of the Dutch liberal party: People's Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD). Our core mission is to promote and reinforce liberalism by building, maintaining, and deepening partnerships wit

h like-minded political parties and organizations worldwide. VVD International focuses on three key pillars: political education, consultation, and participation. VVD International designs and delivers training programs for (young) political leaders and party staff from liberal sister parties abroad. Drawing on the VVD’s extensive experience since its founding in 1948, these programs strengthen party capacity in areas such as campaigning, volunteer management, internal governance, talent development, digital engagement, and data-driven politics. Notable programmes are the Liberal International Democratic Training Academy (LIDTA) and the Liberal Leadership Academy: Europe (LLA), supported by trainers and experts from within the VVD. Within Europe, the VVD is an active member of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe Party (ALDE) and participates in the Renew Europe group in the European Parliament. Globally, the VVD is part of Liberal International and maintains strong relations with networks such as the African Liberal Network (ALN), Al Hurriya Liberal Network (AHLN), and the Liberal South East European Network (LIBSEEN). Many of VVD International’s activities are carried out with support from the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs through the MATRA and SHIRAKA funding programmes.

In several sessions we will talk about economic competitiveness and AI. Minister Vincent Karremans will share his expertise on the Wennink Report, the Dutch adaptation of the Draghi Report. We were in Vienna for the 2026 Spring GA, hosted by ! There we actively engaged in working groups on the themes of Resilient Democracy and the Future of Skills and Jobs.

The GA has also welcomed the association of Movimento 2031 as Affiliate Member and as Full Member!

Over three intensive and inspiring training weekends, the Alliance of Her Masterclass proved again to be the “leading platform dedicated to ensuring women in political life lead, succeed, survive and thrive.”

On behalf of the , our faction leader in Utrecht took part in this Masterclass edition. We are grateful to and for the organization of this programme where women’s political leadership and enhancing political skills and strategies were key!

This weekend we organized the last weekend of the School of Democracy – Women’s Edition in Rabat, Morocco.

This special edition of the programme empowers young Moroccan women to participate in politics and equips them with the soft skills that are crucial to their success.

On Saturday, we had a very special keynote by former Moroccan Parliamentarian , who shared her insights and experiences from public life. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to her for her inspiring contribution, as well as to our two trainers, from and from , for their dedication, guidance, and support throughout the weekend. Their expertise and commitment made this final of two weekends truly impactful.

During the first weekend of December, we had the pleasure of organizing the second weekends of both the Liberal Leadership Academy: Europe and the Liberal International Democratic Training Academy in Istanbul.

This weekend connected young liberals from the whole of Europe and the MENA Region. The participants were challenged during the sessions with developing their political skills. Former VVD MP’s and trained the participants in debating, negotiating and lobbying workshops.

We would like to give a special thanks to our trainers, the LLA lead trainer , and LI’s for guiding the group through this weekend. In addition, we would like to extend our gratitute to for sharing her impressive personal story and contribution to the weekend.
