Ambassador Ammar Hijazi took part in the Save the Children high-level symposium “Children First, Accountability Now”, alongside diplomats, experts, and NGO practitioners.

Ambassador Hijazi underlined that the failure to uphold and protect the rights of Palestinian children is an assault on the future of an entire people and a threat to humanity’s shared future. States are not powerless, the Ambassador said, highlighting the range of legal measures they can and should take, both individually and collectively.

We had to pleasure to attend the International Olive Oil Competition (AIOOC) in Amsterdam and are proud to share that Canaan Palestine, a leading premium olive oil producer from Palestine, was recognized with an award among more than 200 distinguished olive oil producers from across the globe. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Canaan Palestine and to all the award-winning and participating producers and our appreciation to the organisers.

On 15 May, the Palestinian Mission co-organized a commemoration marking 78 years of the ongoing Nakba, bringing together prominent speakers, activists, artists, and poets to honor Palestinian history, culture, and resilience, while reaffirming a shared commitment to Palestinian rights, humanity and justice. As we are living through of the darkest chapters yet of the Nakba, Ambassador Ammar Hijazi noted that: “The Nakba is not a memory. It is the active genocidal process of erasure of Palestine and ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian people, which continues to this day” a pattern he described as: “Dehumanize, erase, and repeat.” Ambassador Hijazi also highlighted the courage, collective action, and humanity that continue to show us that justice will prevail and that the Nakba will end. This collective spirit was powerfully reflected in the more than 500 people from all walks of life who joined us in solidarity at the Dominicus church in Amsterdam.

The National Register of Intangible Cultural Heritage led by the Palestinian Ministry of Culture has been named a finalist in the annual World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Prizes. This prestigious international contest, organized by the ITU, recognizes initiatives that leverage digital innovation to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The National Register of Intangible Cultural Heritage is a strategic digital initiative led by the Ministry of Culture to safeguard, document, and promote Palestinian living heritage using advanced information and communication technologies. Since its implementation, the project has successfully established a comprehensive national database, standardized documentation methodologies, and a digital heritage thesaurus, enabling structured classification and reliable management of cultural records. It has also facilitated the mapping of heritage elements across different regions and provided open access to cultural information for researchers, educators, policymakers, and the public.

We are honored to host Francesca Albanese, UN Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Palestinian Territory occupied since 1967, together with Raji Sourani (), Shawan Jabarin (), Issam Younis () today at the Palestinian Mission, together with diplomats and civil society representatives. These human rights giants presented their assessment about the situation in Palestine and exchanged views with the attendees. We are grateful for their fearless and relentless defense of human rights. They stand out as a beacon of courage and humanity during these times of extreme brutality and inhumanity. They are a symbol of the best of humanity and truth that cannot be muted.
