H.E. Ambassador Eddison Mensah Agbenyegah led Ghana's delegation to the 112th Session of the Executive Council of the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) in The Hague. In his statement, the Ambassador reaffirmed Ghana's unwavering commitment to the objectives of the Chemical Weapons Convention and the complete prohibition of chemical weapons. He also welcomed the continuation of the OPCW Programme for Africa, which strengthens national capacity to implement the Convention.

The OPCW works to eliminate chemical weapons, enhance preparedness against chemical threats, and promote the peaceful use of chemistry for sustainable development. Through its active participation in the OPCW, Ghana remains committed to advancing international peace and security while supporting the safe, secure, and peaceful application of chemistry for sustainable development.

The Embassy of Ghana in The Hague, in collaboration with FuegoSports, joined members of the Ghanaian community and football enthusiasts at Gold Coast Restaurant in Amsterdam to rally behind the Black Stars in their FIFA World Cup encounter against England.

Led by H.E. Eddison Mensah Agbenyegah, together with Head of Chancery Mr. William Manful and Embassy staff, supporters cheered on the national team in a vibrant atmosphere that showcased the unwavering spirit of Ghanaian football fans.

While the match ended in a draw, the result was a positive one for Ghana as the Black Stars continue their World Cup campaign. Attention now turns to the next challenge against Croatia, with hopes high for another strong performance and a vital victory.

🏆 De eerste stap is gezet. The first step has been taken. 🇬🇭⚽

A hard-fought 1-0 victory over Panama. The Black Stars dug deep, showed resilience, and secured an important opening win at the FIFA World Cup.

But the journey is far from over.

Now all eyes turn to the next challenge: Ghana 🇬🇭 vs England 🏴 on 23 June. We did what we had to do against Panama. Against England, we will have to do even more.

On Friday, 12th June 2026, The Embassy of Ghana in The Hague was honoured to receive Mr. Daniel Wadieh, the newly crowned IMMAF African Champion, in recognition of his remarkable achievement and outstanding representation of Ghana on the continental stage.

Daniel’s accomplishment is a powerful reminder of what can be achieved through perseverance, discipline, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. At a time when young Ghanaians are making their mark across diverse fields around the world, his success stands as an inspiration to pursue ambition with courage and determination, while proudly carrying the values and aspirations of the nation.
