Being an Expat in a Dutch City'
📅July 10th, 12.30 - 14.00 PM
📍Feniks, Spoorlaan 428
Moving to a new country is a brave adventure, but it can also feel incredibly isolating at times. Between navigating a new system, trying to figure out where you fit, or just trying to find your footing in a new city, it takes a lot of energy.
Sometimes, what we need most isn't another formal networking event or a lecture. We just need a space to sit down, grab a coffee, and connect with people who share the same experience.
Melis Erciyas is a (neuro)psychologist interested in creating a space for expats and internationals where they feel seen and heard. As someone who has navigated this path firsthand, she wanted to create a relaxed, cozy space for expats and internationals to connect, share experiences, exchange knowledge, and simply feel at ease.
Melis wants to open this space so she can better understand what would be most beneficial for everyone in the next sessions, whether that means talking about stress management, mental well-being, or helping each other out. The first session is truly about getting to know each other, sharing experiences, and discussing what everyone can benefit from the most for the following sessions.
What we will do:
- Connect: Take part in low-pressure, interactive icebreakers to get to know each other.
- Share: Exchange practical tips, local insights, and personal stories about the expat journey.
- Shape: Discuss what you need most as an international so we can shape the next steps for this community together.
If you are an international living in or around Tilburg, or you know someone who might be interested in this, feel free to share this post. Everyone is welcome!
