Our IOFF troup walks to Bellamy Park to collect the original Liberation flame to take to Apeldoorn. This flame was lit in Ottawa, Canada and was flown to Normandy by Air Canada to be part of the D-Day ceremonies on Juno Beach last year.

𝙳𝚊𝚢 𝟷𝟷 - 𝙿𝚊𝚛𝚝𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚒𝚜 𝚜𝚞𝚌𝚑 𝚜𝚠𝚎𝚎𝚝 𝚜𝚘𝚛𝚛𝚘𝚠

Time to head back home. Some of you decided to extend the trip with a few days in Paris. Sounds like a lot of fun! We just wanted to say a massive thank you to you all – you were all so great! We had a great time spending these days with you and finding out all about your relatives' history. Have a safe journey home. This trip is going to be something we'll never forget. 🇳🇱❤️🇨🇦🛫

𝙳𝚊𝚢 𝟷𝟶 - '𝙾𝚙𝚎𝚛𝚊𝚝𝚒𝚘𝚗 𝙼𝚊𝚛𝚔𝚎𝚝 𝙶𝚊𝚛𝚍𝚎𝚗', '𝚆𝚑𝚒𝚝𝚎 𝚁𝚒𝚋𝚋𝚘𝚗 𝙼𝚒𝚕𝚎' 𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝚏𝚊𝚛𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚕𝚕 𝚙𝚊𝚛𝚝𝚢

It's our last day for a few final missions! We learnt all about 'Operation Market Garden' and visited the John Frost Bridge in Arnhem where they filmed the famous war movie "A Bridge too far". After we left Arnhem, we walked the 'White Ribbon Mile' through Dutch fields - a short walk to mark where the Allied troops pulled back to the River Rhine, through the floodplains near the Oude Kerk in Oosterbeek. Also, our 3rd Canadian Division went to Rha to find out about the Queen's Own Rifles of Canada battles.

As the evening went on, we had a few drinks to say goodbye, swapped pins, contact details and e-mail addresses so we could stay in touch. Everyone who took part in this once-in-a-lifetime trip got a certificate to say well done on a fantastic trip full of friendship and enthusiasm.
