Brag alert: Stavanger keeps position as world’s third most liveable city! 🥳
Every year, the ECA International ranks the world’s best cities for expats and international employees. Stavanger has been placed third in their ranking, behind Bern and Copenhagen. 👏
Some common qualities shared by the top cities are safety, reliable infrastructure, low air pollution, democratic freedoms and stable socio-political conditions, according to ECA.
- It’s wonderful that we rank this high. Behind the position lies many years of hard work, both by businesses recruiting international talents to our region, and also by the City that has built a strong international infrastructure through many years: International schools, religious services, child care, meeting places, expat programs and last but not least a welcoming culture, says Anne Woie, Director of Economic Development and International Affairs in the City of Stavanger.
More than 20 per cent of the people of Stavanger come from a different country than Norway, and the international community represents more than 160 nationalities. 🌍 And the city keeps growing – the latest census shows that Stavanger grows more than the other big Norwegian cities.
- Expats and international employees mean a lot for our power of innovation, for bringing us new ideas and impulses, and they mean a lot for market access for our business community, says Woie.
