Arctic Circle Center Norway Marking the Arctic Circle in Norway at 66°33'N All of this is spread across a surface area of approx.1300 m².

The Arctic Circle Center was officially opened on July 13, 1990, at the same time as the new E6 highway across the Saltfjellet mountains was completed. Inside the Centre, you will find the Arctic Bistro serving regional cuisine, a post office, a full-size cinema, and an extensive gift shop with a large variety of souvenirs. The Center is situated approx. 680 metres above sea level on the edge of t

he stunning Saltfjellet-Svartisen National Park. In the Saltfjellet mountains, there is abundant flora and fauna, and a large number of fishing lakes and if lucky you might see reindeers crossing the mountain. The Arctic Circle Center is strategically situated along the E6 Highway in the Saltfjellet mountains in the county of Nordland and constitutes a natural stop for all travellers along the road. The Arctic Circle Center is characterised by its unique architecture that has been adapted to the natural surroundings. The Arctic Circle is marked all the way through the building.

A huge thank you to everyone who visited us this year — your smiles, stories, and sense of adventure made this season truly special. We hope you enjoyed your time at the Arctic Circle as much as we loved welcoming you here!

With just 2 weeks left before we close for the winter season, nature decided to put on a show for us! ✨

Northern lights danced across the sky last night 🌌, and fresh snow welcomed us this morning ❄️

We remain open daily from 10:00–17:00.
Our bistro is now closed for the season, but we’re still offering warm drinks and waffles ☕️🧇

Our Story

The Arctic Circle Centre was officially opened on July 13, 1990, at the same time as the new E6 highway across the Saltfjellet mountains was completed. Inside the Centre you will find a cafeteria serving a Taste of The North and ordinary food, a cinema and exhibition hall with information about the Arctic Circle, and a large and abundant souvenir shop. All of this is spread across a surface area of approximately 1300m2. The Centre is situated approx. 680 metres above sea level on the boundary of the Saltfjellet-Svartisen national park. In the Saltfjellet mountains there is an abundant flora and fauna, and a large number of fishing lakes and if lucky you might see reindeers crossing the mountain. The Arctic Circle Centre is situated on the E6 road in the Saltfjellet mountains in the county of Nordland, and constitutes a natural stop for all travellers along the road. The Arctic Circle Centre is characterised by its unique architecture that has been adapted to the natural surroundings. The Arctic Circle is marked all the way through the building. The Centre is open for the season from May 1 til October 20. (closing dates may vary)
