Standing Together, Healing Together - SMAH in Nuwakot !
In the aftermath of the devastating disaster in Nuwakot, SMAH in partnership with COSAN, reached out to affected families with compassion, care, and hope. Our team provided Psychological First Aid and mental health support to 197 displaced individuals, including 35 children, conducted group therapy for survivors carrying deep grief and trauma, distributed water filters to 26 families to support access to safe drinking water, and provided specialized care to 27 unaccompanied children, while also equipping their caretakers and authorities with skills to support their emotional well-being.
Beyond medical care, this was a journey of listening, comforting, and standing beside people who had lost so much. As we continue this mission through health-desk support, telemedicine, and specialist visits, SMAH remains committed to being a source of healing, hope, and humanity because we care, God heals.
