Congratulations to Team HamroVote, the winners of CivicCode 2026! ๐ŸŽ‰

HamroVote tackles an important challenge: while millions of Non-Resident Nepalis (NRNs) play a vital role in Nepal's economy, many still face significant barriers to participating in national elections.

Their project reimagines how Non-Resident Nepalis (NRNs) can securely participate in Nepal's elections through a privacy-first digital voting platform. By combining biometric identity verification, Zero-Knowledge Proofs (ZKPs), and blockchain technology, HamroVote demonstrates a future where remote voting can be secure, transparent, and accessible.

The team also introduced a candidate performance dashboard, helping voters make informed decisions with real-world data.

What an incredible journey!

We are proud to announce the successful completion of **CivicCode 2026**, our 12-hour civic tech hackathon that brought together some of Nepal's brightest young innovators to build technology for democracy, civic engagement, and social impact.

From early morning brainstorming to evening project showcases, participants transformed bold ideas into functional prototypes, demonstrating the power of collaboration, innovation, and purpose-driven technology.

A heartfelt thank you to every participant, mentor, judge, volunteer, and our incredible partner **Partnerships for Integrity (P4I) โ€“ Germany** for making this event possible. Your support, dedication, and belief in young innovators turned this vision into reality.

To all the teams who participated: thank you for your passion, creativity, and commitment to building solutions that can make a real difference.

As part of our civic engagement efforts ahead of the upcoming elections, we successfully implemented a Mock Polling at the ward level. The program included four days of door-to-door outreach, followed by a hands-on mock polling exercise to help community members better understand the voting process.

A key objective of this initiative was to minimize vote invalidation (เคฎเคค เคฌเคฆเคฐ) and strengthen confidence in new voters by ensuring that voters clearly understand ballot marking procedures and common mistakes that lead to rejected ballots.
