Nepal is not alone. The EU stands with you. Following one of the deadliest floods in decades, the EU is responding. 🇳🇵🇪🇺

A first EU Humanitarian Air Bridge flight has landed today carrying 82 tonnes of essential supplies organised with UNICEF from EU stocks.

नेपाल एक्लो छैन। युरोपेली संघ तपाईंको साथमा छ। 🇳🇵🇪🇺 दशकौँयताकै सबैभन्दा विनाशकारी बाढीपछि युरोपेली संघ (EU) ले नेपालका लागि सहयोग जारी राखेको छ।

८२ टन अत्यावश्यक राहत सामग्री बोकेको EU को पहिलो मानवीय सहायता विमान आज नेपाल आइपुगेको छ । यसमार्फत EU का भण्डारबाट UNICEF सँगको समन्वयमा राहत सामग्री ल्याइएको छ।

साथै, EU ले अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय रेडक्रस तथा रेडक्रिसेन्ट सोसाइटी महासंघ (IFRC) को विपद् प्रतिकार्य आपत्कालीन कोषमार्फत थप €500,000 उपलब्ध गराउँदैछ। यसले स्थानीय राहत टोलीहरूलाई तत्काल आवश्यकताहरू छिटो पूरा गर्न सहयोग गर्नेछ।

त्यसैगरी, अन्तर्गत EU सदस्य राष्ट्रहरू लक्जेम्बर्ग 🇱🇺, जर्मनी 🇩🇪, र लाट्भिया 🇱🇻 र नर्वे 🇳🇴 ले लाइफ ज्याकेट, WASH सामग्री, कम्बल, चिकित्सा सामग्री तथा आपत्कालीन उपकरणहरू पठाइरहेका छन्।

यो सहयोग यसअघि २८ अगस्टमा उपलब्ध गराइएको €२ मिलियनको आपत्कालीन मानवीय सहायता तथा यसै वर्षको सुरुवातमा विपद् पूर्वतयारीका लागि छुट्याइएको झन्डै €३ मिलियनको सहयोगमा थप गरिएको हो।

Behind the scenes of 84 tonnes of humanitarian supplies on the move.

Emergency supplies from the European Union stockpile, along with UNICEF supplies, have arrived in Nepal to assist children, families and communities affected by the devastating flash floods in the Bhotekoshi-Trishuli river basin.

From UNICEF's global supply and logistics hub in Copenhagen, the flight included acute watery diarrhoea (AWD) kits and diagnostic equipment; water tanks, hygiene kits and water treatment supplies; tents; winter clothing kits for infants and children, and learning materials.

Mr Thomas Millar, Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the Delegation of the European Union to Nepal, signed the Book of Condolence at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Nepal yesterday, expressing the EU Delegation’s deepest condolences and solidarity with the Government and people of Nepal following the tragic floods of 26 August 2026.

The EU Delegation reaffirms its support for Nepal as the country continues its recovery and rebuilding efforts.

The European Union (EU) is providing a further NPR 89 million in humanitarian aid to support communities affected by the devastating flash floods in Nepal. This brings the EU's total emergency funding for the disaster to over NPR 445 million (EUR 2.5 million).

भोटेकोशी नदीमा आएको बाढीबाट प्रभावित क्षेत्रमा खोज तथा उद्धार कार्य जारी रहँदा, युरोपेली संघको कोपर्निकस आपत्कालीन व्यवस्थापन सेवा (Copernicus EMS) २६ अगस्टदेखि सक्रिय रहेको छ। बाढीबाट भएको क्षतिको मूल्याङ्कनमा सहयोग गर्न नक्साङ्कन टोलीले विभिन्न भू-स्थानिक नक्सा र डेटासेट तयार गरेको छ।

As search and rescue operations continue in areas affected by flooding in the Bhotekoshi River, the European Union’s Copernicus Emergency Management Service (Copernicus EMS) has been activated since 26 August. To support damage assessment, the Mapping Team has produced various geospatial maps and datasets.

This visualisation shows the area around Bidur, Nepal, highlighting the impact of the floods on built-up areas and roads.

Copernicus EMS is currently mapping four areas: Syapru Besi, Timure, Bidur and Bharatpur, with analysis still under way.
