Sean Kelly & The Super 8's

Sean Kelly & Friends present an intimate show of live Irish music played to the backdrop of Super 8 movies taken by Sean's Dad, a renowned Cine enthusiast, in and around Derry & Donegal 1958-1988.

The show features Sean Kelly on vocals, whistles, bodhran and guitar, Jono Lonie on fiddle and electric mandolin and Maree Limpus on AV and cello. As well as the professional music and visual delivery, Sean also presents an authentic dialogue on a tumultuous time in the history of Derry, Donegal and the north of Ireland.

It is a sensory-rich experience blending authentic Irish music with authentic imagery, no special effects whatsoever. This show is designed to entertain but also to enlighten and to leave the audience with that elusive sense of wonder.

Tickets will be $25 and available soon at The Good Story Bookshop in Akaroa.

Jackie Clarke goes Prima Diva!

What a stunning night we had at The Gaiety with Jackie Clarke and her Pianist Grant.
Her voice filled the hall with laughter and wonderful songs.
A great night was had by all and The Gaiety, Akaroa looked stunning.

Homegrown chanteuse Jackie Clarke turns her powerhouse vocals, wicked humour and maverick entertainment style to interpret the songs of the 20th and 21st Centuries most legendary divas.

Ms Clarke pays homage to Judy Garland, Shirley Bassey, Peggy Lee, Barbra Streisand and more! From Alberta Hunter to Dolly Parton, from Kate Bush to Lady Gaga, Jackie lets her diva flag fly, while playfully interacting with the audience with trademark witty panache.

Accompanied by her trusty sidekick Maestro on piano, expect iconic songs performed with tender soul and gleeful virtuosity.
