Hi everyone, we are so grateful to our great friends of RECAP (Society for the Resilience and Engagement of the Community of Ashhurst & Pohangina, Inc) who run and organise the seed library. The seed packs have been hugely popular with our local community and those visiting from afar.
Come in any time to see the great selection on offer and make your choices, thanks so much RECAP.

Hi everyone, the Palmerston North City Council would like to share their appreciation and thanks to the amazing kids of Ashhurst School who participated in creating a promotional video for the Ashhurst Village Valley Centre.
Martin, Sol and Kim from PNCC were thrilled with the energy and fun the kids brought to the occasion and are now working hard on finishing the video.
Thanks gang, you all did a great job.

Children’s Book Spotlight: A Story About Big Feelings
A Guide to Rocks by Sacha Cotter and illustrated by Josh Morgan

A great story about Charlie. When he gets sad, a physical rock appears in his hands. His dad tries to help using the methods he has always: hide the rocks, ignore them, and never cry. However, the more they ignore them, the bigger they get.
Perfect for parents and children alike, this touching story provides a shared language for children and adults to talk about hard feelings.

Adult Fiction: Fast Paced, Suspense, Psychological thriller
Brain Damage
Freida McFadden

Her newest release - Brain Damage delivers exactly what we love about these books: it hooks you from page one and drags you down a path of wild, unexpected twists. Plus, she draws from her own real-life medical background to make the suspense feel a little too real.
If you need a fast-paced page-turner to get you through the week, this could be just right for you and this author could well become your next obsession.

Adult Non-Fiction: A little taste of Paris
The Smallest Restaurant in Paris
Rachel Khoo
A lovely easy read – a memoir about moving to Paris and living a life trying new things and making a fresh start. It is packed with stories about starting a tiny restaurant in a new city and features tons of yummy recipes to try.
It gives names of places to eat in Paris and shares tips about French cuisine and lifestyle.
If you need a fun escape to get you through the week, this could be just right for you.

Hi everyone, we are thrilled to complete our after school roster of helpers this term - welcome to Hazel, Thea, Iris and Imogen.
They are working towards the William Pike Challenge, the youth development programme designed to develop skills and confidence.
So far they have been great in putting together get well packs, shelving, checking big puzzles and finding books that we have lost. Thanks so much gang and welcome to the team.
