After 5 years of dreaming, planning, and hoping — our Community Kapa Haka in Te Rewarewa (New Lynn) is finally happening! 🎉

This is such a special opportunity for our hāpori to come together, raise our voices, move as one, and celebrate kapa haka in a welcoming, inclusive space.
A huge mihi to Kata O’Donnell (Ngāti Maru) who has pulled all the threads together to bring this kaupapa to life. He ringa raupā, he ngākau aroha — e mihi ana!

Nau mai, haere mai ki Te Pātaka Kōrero o Te Rewarewa -
he wāhi ako, he wāhi kōrero, he wāhi manaaki mō ngā kuia me ngā kaumātua.

This wānanga is an opportunity for our young at heart to come together in the spirit of whanaungatanga to learn and practice some te reo Māori, share kōrero, and enjoy a cup of tea and biscuits.

He wāhi haumaru tēnei - he wāhi e tautokohia ai tātou katoa.
This is a safe space - a place where we all support each another.

We are familiar with the signing of Te Tiriti o Waitangi on 6 February 1840 ✍️. What people are less aware of, is how the treaty was then taken around the Bay of Islands and Hokianga before being sent around the motu for additional signatures, including Tāmaki Makaurau.
