Winter is the busiest time of the year for us, with the colder months bringing increased mauiuitanga for tamariki and whānau.

As the season comes to an end, it’s only right that we acknowledge our incredible kaimahi who showed up for our whānau and communities this winter.

From June through to August, more than 500 whānau were supported through education, advocacy, resources and practical advice to help create warmer, drier and healthier homes.

But our mahi doesn’t stop here, now we focus on getting whānau prepared for next years season 🫡🫶🏽

We see the impact that a warm, dry and healthy home can have on a whānau.

That starts with the standard at which the home is at- it's huge, and we need your support for this kaupapa and the call for stronger accountability around the Healthy Homes Standards.

Everyone deserves a warm, dry, healthy home.

Every day, our team visits homes across the Bay of Plenty and sees firsthand the difference a warm, dry, healthy home can make for whānau.

We also know that the Healthy Homes Standards could have more of an impact when there is a strong compliance system.

That's why we're supporting a petition calling for changes to New Zealand's rental compliance system. The petition proposes removing landlord self-certification and introducing an independent compliance process.

This isn't a complete solution on its own, but it's a practical step that could help ensure Healthy Homes Standards are being met.
