📘 Reduced Truancy, Brighter Futures 📘

When children face fear and violence at home, school is often the first thing they lose. But when parents feel safe, kids can return to class — and reclaim their futures.

💡 Our research, verified by ImpactLab, shows 93% of parents using Help@Hand felt more confident sending their children back to school.

That means fewer empty desks, more learning, and brighter paths ahead.

Suffering in Silence.
Shame. Fear. Isolation. Feeling trapped, helpless, hopeless.
These are just some of the reasons most domestic violence victims never seek help.

An estimated 80% of domestic violence in Aotearoa goes unreported. That means we could be facing up to 850,000 incidents each year — largely hidden, unheard, and unaided.

At Help@Hand, our mission is to break that silence — to restore hope where there is helplessness, and safety where there is fear.

🛡️ Our services provide an extra layer of protection, connection, and support — not just for survivors, but for the frontline workers standing beside them.

Together, we can create real pathways to healing, freedom, and lasting change. 💜

💔 When violence enters a home, it scars more than just the immediate victim — it harms the children watching, listening, and hiding. It shapes how they understand love, safety, and their sense of self.

That trauma can echo for a lifetime, driving mental distress, risky behaviours, and tragically, a higher risk of repeating the cycle in their own relationships (Brainwave Trust).

Our latest research report shows 88% of children witnessed family violence, and 41% were physically hurt, but our service created an 89% reduction in violent incidents recurring in the home!

These are our tamariki — our future parents, leaders, carers, and community builders. When they’re harmed, all of society feels the impact. We can’t afford to look away.

At Help@Hand, we protect frontline social workers and strengthen safety around whānau — because safeguarding children means safeguarding the future of Aotearoa. 💜
