☕️ OUR MISSION
Enabling people with disabilities to create their own business, whilst at the same time creating employment opportunities for other disabled people.

☕️The Market Problem
Many people with disabilities strive for nothing less than being normal, which includes being employed and financially independent. However, employers do not see their value and capability and this potential is wasted.

The alternative is to create a business opportunity for the disabled person so that they are not reliant upon an employer.

We are going to supply premium quality, freshly roasted coffee in a distribution type arrangement. The disabled person can utilise their local networks, and with training and guidance, create a loyal clientele of customers to appreciate a great coffee.

☕️Target Market
Businesses and consumers who enjoy a great coffee, but who buy their coffee from a supermarket - which still has a greater market share than sales from the hospitality trade (café’s etc).

Coffee is best consumed four or five days after roasting once the gases emanating from that process have dissipated. The prime period is then for a further 10 to 18 days, so the idea is to supply people in small quantities on a regular basis.

DMC Arabica 200G A 50/50 blend of Arabica “high grown” coffee, sourced from Colombia and Papua New Guinea. The higher elevation coffee is more sought after due to the taste. When well-cared for, the coffee will produce the more acidic, aromatic taste and flavour. Lower elevation coffee tends to have a lower acidity with little character in the cup.

Our Story
Drink my Coffee - A Social Venture to support Kiwis with a disability
This project was established to help people with a disability find employment.
This aims to help the many people with disabilities strive for nothing less than being normal, which includes being employed and financially independent. However, employers do not necessarily see their value and capability, and this potential is wasted, so the logical alternative is to create an opportunity for these people to run their own business.
The venture is selling premium coffee, which will be blended from beans originating from the highlands of Colombia and Papua New Guinea, which are both highly regarded growing areas. It will be roasted by Eight thirty using the most modern equipment available in NZ. They also have a international - renowned coffee judge, Jessica MacDonald who has tested it, and suggested a 50/50 blend and created some tasting notes, describing the flavour as “Caramel, brown sugar, malt biscuits and a light acidity”.
Recently we delivered the first batch to Jeremy Staines who lives with Cerebral Palsy, he has been striving unsuccessfully to find part time employment. We met at the Blind Foundation in Tauranga, and the smell of the coffee was so great that Jeremy had sold about a third of his stock to just the staff there!

Check out our explainer video of how we roast our fresh premium coffee. Coffee is generally at its prime four to five days after roasting, and tastes its best if enjoyed within 10-18 days. This is perfect for our distribution system whereby we ship out the day of roasting so that you will be drinking it at its best. Which means our coffee is much fresher than store-bought coffee, which has already spent a considerable time in storage, in warehouses and then on the shelf.
