It was wonderful to see our tamariki and kaiako in pink on Friday to support Pink Shirt Day. By doing so, we are standing together against bullying and showing our commitment to making Glen Taylor School a place where everyone feels safe, valued, included, and respected.

Pink Shirt Day is about more than just one day — it is about the way we treat one another every day at our kura. Let’s continue to show kindness, inclusion, respect, and integrity in all that we do!

This term, Team Kererū have been involved in the Wonder Project Rocket Challenge, working alongside an ambassador to explore the science behind designing and launching rockets. It’s been a great hands-on learning experience, bringing together Maths, Science, and English in a meaningful, real-world context. They've had a blast (literally!) launching rockets on our school field!

On Friday, our Year 7 & 8 students took part in the Steve Farrelly Foundation Fun Run—and what an awesome effort it was! Our students challenged themselves to complete the run from Panmure Yacht Club through to Pt England Reserve, showing determination, resilience, and plenty of school spirit along the way.

It was fantastic to have the Glen Innes Police constables join in the run alongside our students—such a great way to connect and support one another. They also fired up the BBQ at the finish line, cooking sausages that were enjoyed by all after a fantastic run.

A huge thank you to the Steve Farrelly Foundation for their support in making the event a success and to the many volunteers that made the morning possible!

We’re really proud of the way our students got involved, encouraged each other, had fun, and gave it their best. Ka pai!
