Hi Puhoi. Huge big thanks to the puhoi pub and puhoi beer for their awesome sponsorship of our Puhoi Fire Brigade Skytower ( Skyscreamers) climbers this year.
Thanks heaps- the cause is better off for it! (100% goes to Blood Cancer NZ) The Puhoi Skyscreamers raised over $15 k for the cause. Thanks everyone.

Another massive achievement by the Puhoi Sky Screamers last weekend, to complete the Sky Tower Fire Fighter challenge!

Climbing to the top with 25kg of fire fighting gear and breathing aparatus is no walk in the park, but the crew put in big personal efforts to get the job done, all to help raise funds and awareness for Blood Cancer NZ.
Thanks to our Brigade, local businesses, friends and family that supported us and our cause with donations and encouragement!
Our team really appreciated your generosity!
A special shout out to Puhoi Pub for being a main contributor this year!
We were very proud to wear your tshirts at the event on the day.....

Hello Puhoi,

On Monday night at our brigade meeting, we made a special presentation of Noe Santiago's UFBA 3 year service certificate to his wife Vicky, and sons Richie and AJ.....
Following the passing of our friend and colleague earlier this year, it was a pleasure to honour Noe's contribution to our Brigade officially for his family!
On behalf of our brigade I would like to give a special thank you to the United Fire Brigades Association (UFBA) for making this posthumous award possible.

Hi Puhoi. As you Might have heard-Today the siren went off twice- once to a structure ( barn/house) fire in Waitoki where we stood by and supplied water when needed and then this afternoon to another structure (house ) fire out Whangaparāoa where our crew got involved and worked in BA ( Breathing apparatus) to extinguish hot spots and monitor the fire scene until completely out. Great to be able to turn out and assist our neighbouring brigades when we can. Puts our training to test!👏

POSTPONEMENT
POSTPONEMENT

Hey folks
Quick heads up …
…we’re postponing the fundraising car wash we had planned for this Saturday.
Just in case the incoming bad weather is as severe as forecast we’ll keep the brigade available for emergency call outs and wash your vehicles at some future weekend (yet to be confirmed).
Apologies if you had planned on getting us to smarten up your car or ute…but there’s likely to be quite a bit of mud about the district over the next week, which would probably undo our good work 🤣
We’ll be back in touch with a new date soon.

On the subject of likely storm damage…
✅take care around existing land slips
✅be prepared for land either side of an existing slip to move
✅remember that the land ABOVE an existing slip is possibly even more dangerous than at the foot of the slip
✅be prepared to relocate at the FIRST sign of new movement

Starting 10-00 TODAY. Hoppity Hop on down.

It's on again folks!
10am down at the Fire Station, Friday 3rd of April. Eggs for the kids, a hot cross bun for the adults... buns baked fresh by Wildfire Bakery 🤤

We've also got the kids escape maze on station for the event too😲 A fun opportunity to practice your escape plan skills 👍👍

Donations towards the brigade's Sky Tower Challenge fundraising will be gratefully accepted 😍
