Shine provides services for people who experience domestic abuse and supports people perpetrating domestic abuse to change. Shine also provides family violence training and education for professionals and the community, including its workplace programme DVFREE, and a secondary school family violence prevention prog

Long-term Shine Round the Bays supporters, Cordis Auckland out-performed their target and raised more than $1,500 to help families impacted by domestic violence.

Special shout out to ๐’๐ก๐ž๐ซ๐ž๐ž๐ฌ โ€“ our top fundraiser again โ€“ for raising an amazing $814, and to ๐๐ฎ๐ข๐ฌ๐ก๐š who raised $439! We are so grateful for your drive and generosity.

On ๐ˆ๐ง๐ญ๐ž๐ซ๐ง๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐š๐ฅ ๐–๐จ๐ฆ๐ž๐งโ€™๐ฌ ๐ƒ๐š๐ฒ, we are shining a light on coercive control a common and devastating form of family violence that violates the human rights of women all over the world.

Coercive control isn't always physical; it is a pattern of behaviour used to take away a person's freedom and voice. By educating ourselves and our communities, we can eliminate family violence and create a safer world .

We are so moved by the story of Christchurch musician and family lawyer, Karra Rhodes . After reaching out to a domestic abuse helpline in her twenties, Karra found strength to change her life. Now sheโ€™s giving back in a big way.

Karraโ€™s debut album, ๐ป๐‘œ๐‘š๐‘’๐‘ก๐‘œ๐‘ค๐‘› ๐‘‡โ„Ž๐‘’๐‘Ÿ๐‘Ž๐‘๐‘ฆ, explores themes of healing and resilience. To support others on their journey to safety, Karra is donating proceeds from the album to Shine for an entire yearโ€”with her publisher, Big Pops, matching the contribution! ๐Ÿ’œ
