Expressions of Interest are now open for the Kaipātiki Local Board Event Partnership Fund.

Community organisations and event organisers can apply for funding support for annual events taking place in the Kaipātiki local board area between October 2027 and June 2028.

The fund supports established and emerging annual events that contribute to vibrant, connected communities. Successful applicants may be considered for a partnership funding arrangement of up to three years, with funding allocated annually.

🌿 Family bush camp at Shepherds Park

Join us for a night under the stars at the Shepherds Park Family Bush Camp, exclusively for Kaipātiki whānau.

Auckland Council’s Parks and Community Facilities team, alongside Friends of Shepherds Park and Barefooted NZ, is inviting Kaipātiki families with tamariki aged 5–12 to enjoy an overnight outdoor adventure in the heart of our community.

The camp includes:
🏕️ Camping and outdoor skills
🌿 Exploring nature
🌳 Family outdoor activities
🔥 BBQ dinner
🌙 Night-time adventures
📅 2pm Saturday 21 November to 9.30am Sunday 22 November
📍 Shepherds Park, Cresta Ave, Beach Haven
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 For Kaipātiki whānau with tamariki aged 5–12, accompanied by an adult
💚 $35 donation per whānau to Friends of Shepherds Park

From 1 October, Auckland Council is taking responsibility for more of Auckland’s transport network, including local roads, parking, footpaths, bus lanes, street lighting and speed limits.

For most Aucklanders, day-to-day services will continue as usual. Buses, trains and ferries will still be operated by Auckland Transport, and state highways and motorways remain the responsibility of NZTA.

The changes also mean transport decisions are being brought closer to communities, with local boards playing a bigger role in neighbourhood-level transport decisions.

Auckland Council is reviewing its community grants policy to ensure funding continues to make a difference for communities and provides good value for money.

Around $25 million is distributed each year through regional and local grants, supporting community groups, events, arts, sports, environmental projects and more.

Community groups, grant recipients and those who have missed out are encouraged to share their experiences and ideas. Your feedback will help shape how community grants are delivered in the future.
