🌳 Auckland has been named a Tree City of the World — for the seventh consecutive year.

Our city’s trees are a vital part of Tāmaki Makaurau’s identity, helping create a greener, cooler, and healthier place to live.

With around 480,000 trees and plants added in 2025 and thousands more planted each year by council, mana whenua, schools, and volunteers, Auckland continues to grow its urban ngahere and strengthen its natural heritage 🌿

Trees are an important part of the identity of Tāmaki Makaurau and its natural heritage.

🌿 Help shape the future of Ōmaru 🌿

The Ōmaru Joint Management Committee is creating a new management plan for Ōmaru (formerly Point England Reserve.)

Why do we need a new plan?

The last management plan for Point England Reserve was approved nearly 30 years ago, in 1997. Since then, our local communities have grown and changed.

What we want to know from you:

• What do you value most about the Ōmaru rural land, Tāmaki Estuary coastline, and Ōmaru Stream connections?

• How should the area be used or improved for the future?

• What are your thoughts on improving public facilities like seating, toilets, playgrounds, or walking and cycling paths?

📅 Have your say by 5 July

Have your say from 3 June - 5 July 2026.
