Hoops are coming to Collins Park

You might remember the awesome deputation last year from Cameron, Deacon and Blake. We checked in with our Greenhithe community on where a basketball court could go, with Collins Park and Wainoni Park as the options.

After looking at all the feedback, we’ve landed on Collins Park, with the court set to go in next to the skatepark.

It’s a great spot with lots already happening and close to the school, making it easy for kids to get to and enjoy.

We know there are nearby homes, so as council staff work through the design, they’ll also be talking with neighbours to make sure it works well for everyone.

We’re now moving into the design and planning stage, and look forward to keeping the community updated as things progress.

Big thanks again to Cameron, Deacon and Blake for getting this idea off the ground!

Note: the photo is just indicative — not the final court design or layout. 🏀
