The items we sell will have some general wear acquired with age, due to the fact that we upcycle all our products and give them a new lease of life, reupholstering them in either Brazilian cow hide, or African zebra hide. The zebra hide we use is sourced from South Africa, is no
t endangered, and according to conservation experts remains abundant in numbers on the African continent. We exclusively use "Grade A" hides on all our products. Top quality African Zebra Burchell hides originate in South Africa. They are hand selected so that you receive only the top-quality graded Zebra hide. All our Burchell Zebra hides have been tanned at one of South Africa’s leading tanneries to a soft and supple tan which makes it ideal for all home décor and upholstery.
This African Zebra roams in most South African game reserves. African Zebra pelts are obtained during the culling season in South Africa and all African Zebra hides are CITES approved to ensure that there has been no illegal culling or poaching of these pelts. In South Africa there are a few varieties of Zebra hides and the one that we sell is the Burchell Zebra. We obtain all permits needed to get the African Zebra hide into New Zealand. The price of the permit is included in the shipping cost. Our suppliers are registered with KZN Wildlife in South Africa, the local conservation authorities in the area, so you can be assured that you are buying a legal hide.
