A very busy night tonight, starting with a structure fire in Glen Eden then multiple calls to Flooding, Trees and Power lines down with persons slightly trapped by flood waters. All western Fire appliances and others from outside areas fully committed!

Very busy night in West Auckland, started about midnight with a house fire then flooding, trees and power wires down etc with all the Western appliances and others fully committed! Stay safe out there!

Our communication centre staff and firefighters are here for you during Alert Level 4.

You can help us by staying in your bubble – please stay home.

We ask people to help keep our firefighters safe by holding off any non-essential outdoor fires – such as burning vegetation or garden waste. This will stop firefighters being called out and having to leave their bubbles unnecessarily.

Even if the fire is under control, the smoke often results in 111 calls which mean our firefighters need to deal with an avoidable call and risk exposure to COVID-19.

Tonight my members of the Henderson Volunteer Fire Brigade has a great BA Training session at the Henderson North Primary School while it was being refurbished. Both types of BA Entry Control Boards were used and a lot of good practice was had! Many thanks to the Henderson North Primary School for the use of their premises and to Ethan Rudd for being a realistic victim!
Great effort all crews!
