In today's whole-school assembly, our fantastic Travelwise Leaders took to the stage to deliver an excellent presentation about keeping our community safe.

They spoke directly to our students about how busy the school gates and parking areas can get during drop-off and pick-up times, and they promoted some wonderful, safe alternatives for getting to school.

Our leaders are encouraging everyone to try these safe options:

πŸšΆπŸ»β€β™€οΈPark and Walk: Parking a little further away from the school gate and walking the last few minutes together.

πŸšΆπŸ»β€β™€οΈActive Travel: Walking to school with friends, or riding a bike or scooter (remembering to always wear a helmet!).

This is just the beginning! Watch this space as our passionate Travelwise learners take action directly at the school gates starting in Term 3 to help keep everyone safe.

A quick reminder that bookings for our upcoming Three-Way Conferences will close tomorrow, Friday 19th June.

It’s that exciting time of year again! Our students have been practicing hard and building up their fitness for our annual school Cross Country.

πŸ“… When: Thursday, July 23, 2026

This year, our Middle and Senior syndicates are coming together for a combined event where students will run in their respective year groups. To make sure every child has the best experience possible, students can choose between two awesome options:

πŸ† Option 1: The Competitive Race
Designed for students who love a challenge and want to try out for the Interschool Cross Country event in August.

πŸ˜ƒEligibility: Years 4–6 students only.
πŸ˜ƒ Start Time: The first race begins at approximately 10:40 AM.
πŸ˜ƒ Bonus: Competitive runners are also more than welcome to join in the Fun Run with their friends later in the morning!

πŸŽ‰ Option 2: The Fun Run
Inspired by massive community events like Round the Bays, this option focuses on participation, team spirit, and having a blast together!

πŸ˜ƒ Eligibility: All Year 3–6 students who are not running in the competitive race.

We want to send a massive shout-out to our incredible family and friends who organised and prepared all the delicious donuts for Donut Friday today! Your hard work and energy behind the scenes were absolutely amazing. πŸ™Œβœ¨

Every single donut sold helps us get one step closer to our goal: fundraising for our new middle school playground! We couldn't do it without our wonderful community stepping up to support our learners.

πŸ₯‡ What an amazing way to start a Friday! πŸ₯‡

This morning, we officially launched the PVS Commonwealth Games! It was an incredible experience for our learners, who were walked into the hall to the sound of the bagpipes.

🎢 A HUGE shout-out to Ricco for playing the bagpipes for us! You did an absolutely amazing job, Ricco, and made the morning so special for everyone! πŸ΄σ §σ ’σ ³σ £σ ΄σ ΏπŸ™Œ

To help support our children’s learning, they will be discovering how the Commonwealth Games bring together athletes from over 70 different nations and territories every four years to compete in the spirit of friendship. Known as the "Friendly Games," it is a unique event where para-sports are completely integrated into the main competition, showing our learners a wonderful example of equality and inclusion. This supports our school value of RESPECT.

Our fantastic Whānau Captains led the special assembly, where each class drew a Commonwealth country that they will be learning all about in the coming weeks. It is such a wonderful opportunity for "learning together" and bringing our school community closer. 🌍✨

Bookings are now open on the Hero app for our upcoming Term 2 Three Way Conference!

These conferences are a fantastic opportunity to check in, discuss your child's progress, and ask questions about their achievement in relation to the new Ministry of Education reporting requirements.

This is a shared learning journey, so children attend the conference alongside their whānau. It is a wonderful time for child, whānau, and teacher to come together and celebrate their hard work and progress.

Over the last few weeks, our learners in the senior syndicate have had the fantastic opportunity to develop their skills with special training sessions, building on the immense popularity our table tennis tables already see every single break time.
