Huge shoutout to streamer Tom (pak8u) and his son who turned their livestream into a mission of kindness!

They hit the shops, filled their trolley with slow cookers, bedding, and towels, and donated the whole lot to support our families.
Talk about using your platform for good these two are absolute legends. 🎥

Today we celebrate one of our quiet heroes — Lynn Edwards a wonderful woman who regularly donates big bundles of Woolworths essentials to our food bank!

She swoops in with giant donations, saves our food bank shelves, and leaves us all smiling. Community heroes wear all kinds of capes, hers just happens to come with shopping bags. 🥳

5️⃣3⃣7⃣ enquiries for our support and housing this year to date. In one day, we received calls for help from a..

🆘 Senior, homeless, living in their vehicle at work
🆘 Mother, homeless due to family harm
🆘 Family unable to afford their rental due to high medical needs
🆘 Family unsuccessful after multiple private rental applications
🆘 and more due to a Relationship breakdown, be it between spouses or parent & child

133 individuals are currently housed with us: 75 children, 52 adults & 6 seniors.

🫶 BE THE CHANGE 📢 ✨

After meeting with Lesley to learn about what we do, this is the message Miss NZ Finalist 2026, Chloe Robinson, took with her and is now calling on others to do the same!! Chloe reached out to offer us her support in response to our winter callout and visited our Onewa site last week.

It's awesome to see the heart of our local youth, like Chloe, who are willing and passionate about representing and serving the under served in our community. We're grateful she's chosen to use her voice to give a platform for DPH families, seniors & children.

Both in April & May, Nada arrived with a boot load for the food bank!! We've definitely felt the increase in need since the start of the year, especially when a parent comes with a specific request for a carton of milk or a small tin of milo, and we've had to tell them we've run out of stock.

We're thankful for these regular deliveries where we can keep helping more people. Thank you, Dutton Stormwater Maintenance Ltd!

We absolutely LOVE the community & donors who support us on the daily. 🫶
Recently, we got a call from a local gardener asking if we'd accept a donation of a pumpkin, and of course we said YES!! But what we'd expected would be a lovely meal for ONE family, turned out this pumpkin would go to feed 10x MORE! 😍😊
