🔥 Is your lithium-ion battery fire extinguisher actually compliant?

Suppliers across Australia and New Zealand have been caught making misleading claims — suggesting their lithium-ion extinguishers meet AS/NZS 1841 standards. The truth? No specific standard exists for this type of extinguisher.

Even more importantly — these products are NOT designed for use by the general public. Lithium-ion battery fires produce toxic smoke, can reignite after appearing out, and require trained professionals to tackle safely.

🥶 Is your smoke alarm feeling the cold too?

If you've had an alarm go off for no reason on a freezing night lately, you're not alone. Smoke alarms hate the cold just as much as we do.

Why does it happen?
🌡️ Alarms work best between about 4°C and 40°C
🔋 Cold batteries can read as "flat" even when they're fine
💧 Rapid temperature drops can cause condensation inside the unit

How to fix it
🏠 Warmer rooms = fewer false alarms
📏 Move the alarm a metre or two away if it's near a bathroom or window
🧽 Give it a wipe down and a vacuum to clear out dust
🔁 Press test until it resets properly

Nobody loves a 3am alarm scare, but please don't ignore it or disconnect it. Winter is peak season for house fires — and you can't smell smoke while you're asleep. 🚨
