We are thrilled to share that the first part of our stunning new school mural is finished! This beautiful artwork is deeply rooted in our school values, celebrating a powerful bridge between our past and our future while reflecting the rich heritage of our students.
If you've walked past the hall, you can now see the incredible storytelling brought to life:
Aotearoa (The Left Side): Our unique snowy mountains. In the Pacific, these peaks belong only to New Zealand, representing the lofty aspirations we have for our students. 🏔️✨
The Waka & the Hoe: A waka gliding across the lake, directly tying into our school symbol of the Hoe (oars). It’s a powerful reminder of the teamwork required to move forward together. 🚣♂️
Connections Across the Pacific (The Right Side): A traditional Polynesian Sailing Vaka, honoring the ancestral paths of our Pacific whānau. 🌊
Patterns of Life: Intricate Māori and Polynesian patterns woven throughout, symbolising growth, strength, community, and togetherness.
👀 Looking to the Future...
While Phase 1 honors our rich history and origins, we aren't done yet!
We are keeping Phase 2 a bit of a surprise for now, but here is a small hint: our Wayfinders journey is about to rocket from the past straight into the present and future. Keep your eyes on the skies, because the next stage is all about innovation, new horizons, and reaching for the stars! 🛰️✨
