(il)legible inkscription by Joanna Cook and Steve Lovett opens at Papakura Art Gallery in one week!

(il)legible inkscription wrestles with language at the edge of touch. Ink meets skin, fabric, and force through co-laboured acts of pressing, lifting, and shifting. Words blur, stretch, and slip their edges.
What remains is a trace of contact, power, memory, and bodies meeting through inscription.

Join us at 11am on Saturday, 16th of May for the official opening.

🌱Love our parks? Planting season is almost here—your chance to make a mark on your favourite park. Keep an eye out for Auckland Parks updates on fun, family‑friendly planting days.

🌱✨ BIG NEWS - Planting Season 2026 is almost here!

Our plants are growing strong, tools are getting ready, and soon it’ll be GO TIME across Tāmaki Makaurau / Auckland’s parks! 🌿

Get ready for a season packed with FREE community planting events where you can dig in, get muddy, and help restore nature alongside our park rangers, community groups and volunteers. 🌼

Whether you’re joining us on planting days or helping prepare sites on weekday layout days, there’s a way for everyone to get involved and make a real difference.

💥 Good to know before you join:

✅ Real events, real parks - all our planting days happen outdoors in Auckland Parks.
If you see someone offering a livestream link, it’s spam and we try to remove these when we find them as quickly as we can.

✅ Completely FREE - no tickets, no bank details required.
If someone tries to sell or transfer a ticket, it’s not legitimate.

📝 Registration may be needed at some sites (still FREE) so our rangers can plan tools, plants, and space.

✅ No experience needed - just bring enthusiasm and a smile.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 All ages welcome - bring your friends, whānau, workmates, or neighbours!

🌳 Got a group of 10+ keen to help?
Send us a message with:
• Your Auckland area
• Group name
• Approximate numbers

Please note our parks team schedule planting locations well in advance, while sites are prepared and plants are grown. Because of this, the planting days we advertise are the only opportunities available for groups to join.

🌱 Layout days usually happen during weekdays, when volunteers help place plants across sites ready for the big community planting day.

🌏 Let’s get together, have some fun, and give back to Papatūānuku.

👀 Event dates and locations dropping soon - watch this space!
