Mฤlo Ni, Panmure! ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ฐ๐ŸŒบ

A language is more than words. It is a connection to our roots, our families and the generations who came before us. ๐ŸŒฟ

From the voices of our elders to the laughter of our children, every word spoken in Gagana Tokelau carries a piece of history, identity and belonging. ๐Ÿ’›

This week, 25โ€“31 October 2026, Panmure Community Library proudly acknowledges Tokelau Language Week: Te Gagana Tokelau! ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ฐ

Across generations, language brings families together, keeps treasured stories alive and reminds us of the importance of passing cultural knowledge from one generation to the next.

To our Tokelauan families, children, young people and elders throughout Panmure and beyond, we acknowledge and celebrate your beautiful language, culture and heritage.

A little challenge for our community! โœจ

Whether you speak Gagana Tokelau fluently, know a few words or are learning for the very first time, weโ€™d love to hear from you!

Whatโ€™s a Tokelauan word, saying or family tradition that holds a special place in your heart?

Share with us in the comments and help spread the beauty of Tokelauan language and culture! ๐Ÿงก

From emails to everyday conversations, letโ€™s talk Vagahau Niue! ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ’ป๐ŸŒบ๐Ÿ’›

Itโ€™s Friday, Panmure! And weโ€™re wrapping up our Niue Language Week posts with a little workplace banter! ๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ“ง

Ever wanted to spice up your work conversations with a little Vagahau Niue? Well, hereโ€™s your chance!

Tau Fakamonuinaaga: Blessings โœจ

Fiafia Ke Fakatutala: Happy to discuss ๐Ÿ’ฌ

**Gahua A Au **I: I work at โ€ฆ ๐Ÿข

Tuga Na Ia Ke He Meli Hila Fakahiku Na Ne Fakafano Atu E Auโ€ฆ: As per my previous emailโ€ฆ ๐Ÿ“ง

Hea Mai Au: Call me ๐Ÿ“ž

And letโ€™s be fair, weโ€™ve all had that moment when weโ€™ve wanted to say โ€œAs per my previous emailโ€ฆโ€! ๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ“ง

But beyond the office humour, every phrase we learn is another opportunity to recognise, appreciate and help keep Vagahau Niue alive.

As Niue Language Week comes to a close, letโ€™s remember that celebrating a language doesnโ€™t have to end when the week does. ๏ฟผ๏ฟผ๏ฟผ๏ฟผ๐ŸŒบ

Every greeting, every conversation and every word shared helps connect generations, strengthen identity and celebrate culture. ๐Ÿ’›

Fakaaue Lahi to everyone who has followed along with us this week!

Your turn, Panmure! Which Vagahau Niue phrase from this week was your favourite?
