We’re looking for a few community-minded people to join our brigade as Volunteer Firefighters.

Being a firefighter is a rewarding opportunity to serve your local community, develop valuable skills, and be part of a tight-knit team that responds when people need help most.

We’re looking for people who are:
Fit and capable
Reliable and dependable
Committed to training and responding

No previous firefighting experience is needed — just the right attitude, willingness to learn, and a commitment to serving others.

Please join us in congratulating our newest firefighter, FF Wright! 🚒
After 12 months of dedicated training, he graduated on Friday from an intense 7-day recruit course, where he demonstrated the skills, knowledge, and commitment required for the role (top of the class I’m sure 😉).

FF Wright is passionate about serving our local community, and we’re proud to see him step into this new capacity.

Today marks three years since we lost Craig Stevens and Dave van Zwanenberg.

Members of the Waitematā District came together to hold a memorial service, taking time to reflect, remember, and honour two respected colleagues and friends.

Craig and Dave’s dedication, courage, and service to their community will never be forgotten. They remain forever part of our Fire and Emergency whānau.

We remember them today, and always. ❤️
