INZBC hosted its Grow with India event in Christchurch on Friday, bringing together members, partners, and business leaders to strengthen connections between India and New Zealand.

Speakers included H.E. Ms. Muanpuii Saiawi, High Commissioner of India to New Zealand, Hon James Meager, Deputy Mayor Victoria Henstock, and Ms. Leanne Watson, who shared valuable insights on the growing opportunities between India and New Zealand.

Guests also had the opportunity to engage directly with the speakers through an interactive Q&A session.

A key highlight of the evening was the signing of an MOU between the India New Zealand Business Council and Business Canterbury, to work collaboratively towards promoting India and New Zealand business connections from Christchurch.

Following a productive engagement at HamiltonJet yesterday, the High Commissioner visited the University of Canterbury, one of New Zealand’s leading institutions for research, innovation, and higher education, as part of the Christchurch programme hosted by INZBC.

The High Commissioner met with Professor Catherine Moran, Acting Vice-Chancellor; Professor Saurabh Sinha, Executive Dean, UC Engineering; and Graham Wise, Director, Global Engagement. The discussions highlighted UC’s strong focus on global collaboration, advanced research, and industry-driven innovation.

The visit also included UC Kōawa Studios and UC Motorsport, showcasing cutting-edge student innovation, applied engineering, and excellence in hands-on learning.

The engagement reinforced opportunities for deeper collaboration between India and New Zealand in education, research, and innovation.

As part of a day-long business engagement programme in Christchurch yesterday, INZBC was honoured to host the Indian High Commissioner during a visit to HamiltonJet, one of New Zealand’s leading advanced manufacturing and export success stories.

The delegation met with HamiltonJet’s leadership team, including Ben Reed (CEO), Andrew Ashby (Sales & Product Manager), and Steve Thomas (Area Support Manager), gaining valuable insights into the company’s world-class marine propulsion technology, innovation, and global export operations.

The visit highlighted opportunities for strengthening business connections, innovation, and collaboration between India and New Zealand.
