We are very proud to call Mone one of our kaimahi at Waitākere Central Library 💛

MEET MONE LAKATANI! 🇳🇺❤️

Singer, songwriter, composer, craftsman and our beloved Creative Director of TOKIOFA Arts Academy Seasons 1, 2 & 3! 🎶🎭

Hailing from the beautiful villages of Tuapa, Hikutavake and Hakupu Atua, Mone is a proud son of Niue whose talents and contributions to our people extend far beyond the stage! 🇳🇺

Widely admired for his powerful vocals, musical compositions and traditional craftsmanship, Mone has a remarkable gift for bringing our Niue culture to life. And when Mone sings? Let’s just say even our people back on the Rock can hear him! 🔥🪨

From MCing the ASB Polyfest Niue Stage and Auckland Pasifika Festival, to his time as Avondale College’s Niue Polyfest tutor — and heck, you might even recognise him from his Niue Youth Network or AUPISA days. Chances are if there’s a Niue event happening, there’s a pretty good chance Mone will be there! 🇳🇺❤️

With years of community service and leadership behind him, Mone’s contributions have included a Pacific Dance NZ Artist in Residence programme and recognition as one of 50 outstanding Niue community contributors at the inaugural Tagata Niue in Aotearoa Honours Awards, presented by Matakau Puipui a Niue in 2024 🏆

But beyond the accolades, what makes Mone truly special is his humility, big heart and people-first leadership. Whether he’s sharing his knowledge, cracking jokes or filling a room with laughter and warmth, Mone has a gift for bringing people together.

As a long-serving community leader, Mone has helped shape TOKIOFA into what it is today, nurturing talent, building confidence and creating opportunities for hundreds of Niueans to reconnect with their culture.

We’re incredibly proud to celebrate a man who generously shares his gifts so others may grow and shine. Some of our greatest treasures are the people among us who continue to uplift the next generation. 🇳🇺❤️

Come celebrate Mone and our 300+ Niue performers at Aotea Centre!
