Voting your way.

There’s more than one way to vote in the 2026 General Election, and the Electoral Commission has options to make it work for you:

✅ Accessible voting places

✅ A support person to help you vote (they can read the papers aloud and tick them if you ask, but can’t tell you who to vote for)

✅ Someone to pick up and return your voting papers

✅ Voting by phone, if you’re blind, have low vision or need help marking papers

✅ Voting visits to care homes and hospitals

Enrol by midnight this Sunday 25 October. Advance voting opens Monday 26 October and closes at 7pm on Saturday 7 November (Election Day).

Harper Ahern is turning his love of music into a DJ career. 🎧

A past Manawanui Fund for Good recipient, Harper has played at some of Wellington's biggest street festivals and, most recently, the Super Rugby final. Not bad for a young DJ just getting started!

Harper and his mum have shared their story in "In Touch", the Muscular Dystrophy Association's latest magazine, talking about how he built his passion into a career and the difference Individualised Funding has made for their family.

Meet Debbie, the creative force behind PurrCats. 🐾

Years of dreaming up pet products inspired by her own animals, and now Manawanui's Fund for Good has helped bring them to life with a laser engraving machine.

ID tags, keepsake boxes, memorial pieces and more are taking shape, with her online shop on its way.

For Debbie, it's much more than a business though. After years of health challenges and recovery, she has rebuilt her independence through determination, and now she's blending creativity with a long-held dream.
