🇵🇭✨ **Mālohi, Kia Ora, and Happy Filipino Independence Day!** ✨🇵🇭

On Friday, our incredible Te Uho o te Nikau School community came together to celebrate Filipino Independence Day, and what a vibrant, joyful day it was!

From the beautiful traditional attire worn by our students and staff to the delicious food, music, and rich cultural sharing, our hallways were buzzing with pride and connection. It was a wonderful opportunity to honor the heritage of our Filipino whānau and learn more about the history and traditions that make their culture so special.

A massive **Salamat** (thank you) to all the students, staff, and families who helped organize, participate, and bring such amazing energy to the celebrations. We are so proud to be a diverse school where every culture is seen, heard, and celebrated!

Check out some of the highlights from our day below! 📸👇

The Year 5 and 6 students of Hiwa, Kopu, and Aorangi 'rolled' into an amazing experience at Howick Historical Village today! They 'steered' their way through a Victorian school lesson, 'communicated' cleverly, and 'built' memories with their jolly trolly adventure.

Te Pua Tahi has been learning about toys from the past and present. 🧸🎮 Our tamariki worked together in teams to cut, sort, and paste different toys onto a timeline, showing how toys have changed over time. We shared ideas, discussed where each toy belonged, and worked collaboratively to complete our timelines. What fantastic teamwork! ⭐️🤝

🏗️ **PLAYGROUND UPDATE!** 🛝✨

Work is well underway on our brand-new school playground, and we are absolutely thrilled with how it is looking! The team has been working hard, and the design is truly coming to life.

If everything goes to plan, we are hoping to have it fully completed and ready for action right at the start of **Term 3**! Our learners are going to have an amazing new space to explore, climb, and play.

Check out the progress photos below to see how it's shaping up! 👇📸
