Yesterday the final vote tallies were revealed, and it's official - 6 of our candidates are now members on the Henderson-Massey Local Board. Thanks to everyone who voted for us for your support - we're in it for the community and will do our best to represent you over the next three years.

Congratulations also to the other elected members, we look forward to working together over this term - and a special shout out to the legend Vincent Naidu who stood with us and didn't make it on this time around, and to Shane Henderson - Councillor for Waitākere who was re-elected to his role with a stonking big majority.

It was a great time connecting with Henderson-Massey residents about what matters most to them this local election and reminding everyone to make their voice heard and vote!

Vote Will Flavell and the Labour team for Henderson-Massey Local Board - today!

Will loves living and working in West Auckland. He was a teacher at Rutherford College in Te Atatū Peninsula for 8 years and still closely works with young people in education across Auckland. He is actively involved in local sport, charities, and community groups, and is currently elected the Deputy Chairperson of the Henderson-Massey Local Board. He hopes to continue pushing for change to benefit the people of West Auckland with another term on the Board.

Vote Chris Carter and the Labour team for Henderson-Massey Local Board - today!

Chris is currently the Chairperson of the Henderson-Massey Local Board and, until recently, was an elected Member of the Waitemata DHB. He served as the MP for Te Atatū (1993 to 2011) but left Parliament in 2011 to serve as a senior United Nations official in Afghanistan (4 years) and Myanmar (3 years). In Parliament, he served as Minister of Education, Conservation, Housing, Ethnic Affairs and Local Government.

Prior to being elected to Parliament, Chris was a local teacher in West Auckland. His first job as a teacher was at Kelston Boys High School, and his last teaching position at Rutherford College. He's currently in his second term as Chairperson of the Henderson-Massey Local Board, lives in Te Atatū South, and remains strongly committed to serving the local community.
