We are an active and connected local board focusing on our community. We are committed to better public transport, pushing for affordable housing, supporting our young people and building our community. Introducing the team:
Chris CARTER - I am the current Chair of the Henderson-Massey Local Board, elected in 2019 after a long career serving our community. Prior to this role, I was an elected MP
for Te Atatu for several terms, before working for seven years in Myanmar and Afghanistan with the United Nations. I am a passionate Te Atatu resident, and I am adoring the chance to improve our local community again. Will FLAVELL - I am the current Deputy Chair of the Henderson-Massey Local Board, elected originally in 2013 and serving my third term. I am the former Head of Māori Studies at Rutherford College and I enjoy working with our young people, helping them find their way in the world and growing into the people they deserve to become. Brooke LOADER - I am elected as a member of the Henderson-Massey Local Board and the Waitakere Licensing Trust, and passionate about transport, our local business and climate change. I am running my own legal business in Glendene, that focuses on Maori and environmental issues. As a local business owner and mum of two beautiful children, I am passionate about West Auckland being a better place to live for young people. (Ngapuhi)
Cr Shane HENDERSON - I am your City Councillor for Waitakere ward, having previously served two terms on the Henderson-Massey Local Board. I am a former community lawyer, giving free legal advice across West Auckland to those in need. I have delivered on local jobs and better public transport, and am committed to working for a zero carbon future in our city.
